Why Are We Killing 90% of Down Syndrome Babies?
When I began defending the dignity of people with Down syndrome on an ABC Health social media post, the taxpayer-funded organisation deleted all comments.
This week I was disgusted to see the dehumanisation of people with Down syndrome exposed in a new report by ABC Health.

In Australia, 9 out of 10 children suspected to have Down syndrome are killed in-utero through abortion. Over 50% of parents report being pressured to kill their child by health professionals.
A shocking disregard for the innate worth, dignity and human rights of people with Down syndrome was reflected in the comments under ABC Health’s story.
I began responding to these comments and exposing the horrific ideology underpinning them. Within hours of my engagement in the comments section, ABC Health removed all comments from the story.
This was a disturbing piece of censorship from the ABC, which I consider to be a blatantly pro-abortion media organisation.

On my honeymoon many years ago, James and I stayed at a beautiful treetop bed and breakfast in Port Douglas and every day a lovely young woman would come and take our breakfast order.

Although our honeymoon went for three weeks across three locations (yes we spoiled ourselves!) and was filled with beautiful memories, actually it is the memory of Michelle’s warmth to us that is one of the highlights, that stands out almost 15 years later. It makes me sick to the stomach to think that it is perfectly legal and acceptable to kill people like Michelle with Down syndrome in-utero.
I do not want to live in an Australia where we kill some human beings because they are deemed less valuable.
This is why I am fighting to build an Australian culture where every Australian is valued, irrespective of their gender, age, disability, race, location or stage of development.
To help me build this culture, please forward this article to a friend or colleague, and share my video about ABC Health’s story with others.
It is only through spreading the word to other Australians that we will begin to change course.

Identificational repentance is a very powerful corporate, priestly (1 Peter 2:9) prayer weapon, in which believers stand in the gap for their family, church, city, or nation by naming the sins that have shaped a people, confessing them before God, and turning from those patterns in heartfelt humility.

Most Australians still believe in human dignity and inalienable rights, essential truths for a just legal system. What they’ve since abandoned is the only foundation that make those beliefs coherent.

Thank you Joanna. You are doing such a wonderful work. With all the talk of DEI, where is that for Downs Syndrome babies? So hypocritical.
Thanks Joanna for showing us what speaking the truth in love looks like.
