Lawfare Against Trump
A new term has been invented in America, known as “lawfare” — similar to the term “getting Borked” being invented to describe the Democrats’ underhanded tactics in blocking conservative appointments under President Reagan.
Prominent, eminently qualified conservative jurist Robert Bork was viciously attacked primarily by then-Senator Ted Kennedy for his superlative record of ruling according to the rule of law, not the rule of feeling.
Bork is the author of the excellent book Slouching Towards Gomorrah, among other extremely significant and important tomes.
The term lawfare is used to describe the many nefarious legal actions launched by the Democrats against former US President Donald Trump.
Malicious Prosecution
One case in point: New York’s Black Democrat Attorney-General Letitia James, who has been proven to be a cheat and a liar, campaigned on a platform to “get Trump” and has appointed her sexual partner as Trump’s prosecutor.
James has been found guilty of using taxpayer money for expensive vacations with her married-but-not-to-her favourite prosecutor. She has also been found guilty of lying about when their “collusion” began and played a major role in breaking up his marriage.
By the way, her hand-picked prosecutor has never prosecuted a criminal trial, yet she appoints him to prosecute probably the most famous criminal trial in New York history, all to “destroy Trump’s businesses”, as she has promised to do.
This case was suspiciously weak from the very beginning. Disgraced progressive New Yorker Letitia James alleged that Trump overstated the values of his various properties for the purpose of getting better terms for big real estate loans. One big problem in the case was that the banks involved, the alleged victims of Trump’s alleged fraud, testified that
- they made the loans based on their own assessments of the properties, not Trump’s;
- they were paid back on time and in full;
- they made money on the loans; and
- they would do business with Trump again.
But according to the vicious, vindictive New York Attorney General, Trump must be prosecuted.
The way the prosecutors presented their dubious case before the Democrat-appointed and Democrat-voting judge denied Trump his right to a jury trial. You know, the pesky little clause in the US Constitution that says all defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law is simply being ignored, and Trump is solely judged by the judge who, as a former cabbie, should recognise that Trump is the champion of the working class.
This is such a miscarriage of justice that even Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus, a devout Lefty firmly in the anti-Trump camp, expressed worries about the precedent the Trump case could set. In her column, she says:
“The essence of Trump’s argument on appeal is that the supposed harm he caused was minimal at best — all his lenders were repaid — and that the penalty levied against him was therefore wildly excessive. The conundrum is that the very size of the judgment, and the consequent size of the bond that Trump is required to post, might make him unable to appeal. Trump could pursue his case, but in the meantime, Letitia James would be entitled to seize and sell off the former president’s assets.”
Progressive commentator Cenk Uygur, also firmly anti-Trump, had a similar view. “To me, putting up all the cash upfront before you appeal the case seems draconian for everyone, not just Trump,” Uygur said on his program The Young Turks.
“But what if he wins the appeal? So you made him sell all of his properties to get the collateral, but then he can’t buy them back. … So when his lawyer says ‘irreparable harm,’ in this case, financially speaking, it would be irreparable harm.”
This is simply from the one New York lawfare case. Several more unfair and blatant lawfare cases are progressing across the US. All thanks to the demented psyche of the Deep State leaders on the Left who maintain a visceral hatred of Trump.
Looking Up
However, all is not lost. Trump is a fighter. His Truth Social Internet platform is in the process of merging with a Special Purpose Acquisition Company, which will enrich the former president by several billions of dollars, assuring the courts of his ability to post the collateral to pay the unconstitutional fine.
Also, thankfully, the polls are now showing Trump beating Biden this November by an ever-growing margin. This “lawfare” tactic is so transparent that the American voters are seeing just who the bad guys are here.
The voters long for Trump’s booming economy, social advancement, cheap energy, secure border, inexpensive groceries, mortgage affordability, manufacturing and other jobs as well as US international prestige. It is no wonder that the progressive policy of “lawfare” by powerful Democrat Deep Staters is being implemented by the Never Trumpers but rejected by the American voters.

I am using "and" in my title more as a type of contrast. So, I am not saying the recent Trump inauguration was a Christian revival, but some similarities can nonetheless be mentioned.
Not Leticia James in this case. you are talking about Fani Willis
Jack, thank you so much for keeping us up to speed with the hypocrisy of ‘lawfare’. I am pondering ‘how’ sane people with law credentials an press forward with their narrative. I can only assume they are totally deceived, having jettisoning their ‘anchor’ when they outlawed the Judaeo-Christian ethic.
