Praying for America and Gearing Up for GO Month in 2024!
It’s almost GO Month – a month for intensified strategic prayer and evangelism. It’s time to intercede for Australia and the USA! Join us for the launch tonight!
Since 2013, the team at Canberra Declaration have called the nations to join in prayer and fasting in autumn for the United States of America.
The time of prayer this year will be three days, from 30 April to 2 May 2024. Prayer for the USA begins with America’s National Day of Repentance on April 30. It concludes with their National Day of Prayer on 2 May.
The theme for this year is “Lift up the Word; Light up the World”, based on 2 Samuel 22:29–31. Watch as Warwick explains this theme, and why praying for the USA is so important in the video below.
Why the USA?
Every nation needs prayer for the gospel to spread, giving eternal life to believers and transforming the destiny of nations. So why focus on the USA?
America is the largest Christian nation founded by Christians our world has ever known. It has sent out the largest number of missionaries to other countries. The USA has a large Christian population. And it still is, even in its weakened state, the biggest bulwark against evil in the world.
The destiny of the USA will hugely shape the direction of the nations. For these reasons and more, we feel it is strategic and vitally important to pray for the USA.
We will meet on Zoom at 8 PM (AEST) to pray nightly for the USA from 30 April to 2 May. This time coincides with the beginning of GO Month. Use our regular Zoom link https://zoom.us/j/776881184 to join.
Then, beginning at 8 PM on 2 May (AEST), we will have 24 hours of continuous prayer on Zoom for the USA. Despite being on opposite sides of the globe, we will be praying for the USA at the same time as many in America will be praying for their National Day of Prayer.
Gearing Up for GO Month!
GO Month is just around the corner. It’s a wonderful time of intensified prayer and evangelism.
As believers, we know that we are called to evangelism and discipleship every day of the year. But during May, between Easter and Pentecost, we have the opportunity to join with millions across the world in an intensified season of evangelism. What a privilege!
GO Month is incredibly easy. During May, everyone is encouraged to pray for and tell the good news of Jesus to five friends or family – or anyone! It’s that easy! This makes May a wonderful month to draw closer to God and His heart for all to come to know Him (1 Tim 2:4).
Heading towards the middle of the year, it’s a great time to refocus our spiritual sight on Jesus and the Great Commission (Matt 28:18–20).
Every night during May we will meet on Zoom to worship God and pray for GO Month. All our Zoom prayer meetings begin at the regular time of 8 PM (AEST). Please join us, as our prayers are stronger together!

GO Month Launch Invite: 29 April 2024

Canberra Declaration is again partnering with Ps Jeff Daly, the founder and leader of the National Day of Repentance in the USA. In Jeff’s words, we want to “make America godly again”!
Praying for the USA is a part of GO Month. Jeff will join us for our GO Month launch on 29 April – despite the time zone differences!
We are also privileged to have Werner Nachtigal, founder of GO Month from Germany, join us for the launch.
Werner has an incredible heart for evangelism. It is our privilege for him to join us as we pray for God’s blessing and moving during the month of May.
In addition, we are delighted that Ps John Robb, founder of Transformation Prayer Foundation (an organisation that helps fund the growing international prayer movement), will also join us on the night!
