2020 has shown us how precarious our world can be. From a pandemic that’s shut down the planet, to an America that’s polarised like it’s 1968; from economic carnage in our own country, to a belligerent and totalitarian China. We’re living in turbulent times. American [...]

In December 2018, Melbourne Pastor Murray Campbell and his family visited the blood-soaked WW1 battlefields of Western Europe. They were on a pilgrimage of sorts, to see where Campbell’s great grandfather, William Campbell, fought for King and Country as an ANZAC soldier. Their pilgrimage took [...]

I grew up with a victim mentality. Nobody called it that at the time. But as I look back, that’s what it was. You see, I was a refugee from communist Eastern Europe -- from Hungary. I grew up among other refugees, among victims. Victims [...]

We walk into the bustling auditorium. Pachelbel’s Canon is playing in the background, providing an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication. ‘How very regal’, my friend says. It’s not what I expected, but I’m not surprised either, considering who will be speaking. Namely Jordan Peterson -- [...]

The police killing of George Floyd sparked protest and widespread discussion about race in America. People are in uproar across the US, and protests have taken off in other parts of the world (including Australia). As the shock over Floyd’s death recedes, outrage is turning [...]

What might life be like once this pandemic is over? Will we return to a pre-COVID-19 Australia, or will some (or perhaps many) things be different? We can’t predict the future – as COVID-19 itself has reminded us. But I think it’s worth having this [...]
