When Moses asked to see God's glory, God offered something better — not an overwhelming spectacle, but a name, a character, and a person to trust.

God is doing a new thing, so we must roll up our sleeves, put our hands to the plough and get involved.

Today is the National Day of Prayer. The theme from Joshua 3:5 is to consecrate ourselves. And contained within the verse is a remarkable promise: “for tomorrow the Lord will do great wonders among you.”

The environment you grow up in shapes who you become. I grew up in Canada, playing ice hockey — it's what you did. Similarly, be shaped by knowing our Father’s ways.

Greater clarity and conviction about Jesus will lead to greater courage to share him — and for others to know him. There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

In our day, people want to make Jesus smaller. But today let us celebrate Jesus who is supreme. He is the greatest above all others. He has no rival or equal. He is the king of creation and reconciliation.

Hearing and receiving the word generate action. Together, by the grace of Christ, they open the way for his presence to break through — and for his word to touch others and produce lasting fruit. Only the received word becomes fruitful.

The responsibility for nurturing new believers does not rest with one or two designated church leaders or in any particular church structure. It rests with all of us.

What if the Church celebrated Pentecost with the same fervour as Christmas and Easter — gathering, praying, expectant for a fresh outpouring of the Spirit?

When the Holy Spirit came, the “mystery” was unveiled and announced to the nations. A new chapter began for the disciples as Jesus commissioned them into his mission.

We need to stand in faith and “set ourselves to seek the Lord” every day in these end times. The Lord is shaking everything that can be shaken, so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

When we follow Jesus into the homes and lives of the “lost”, we have the privilege of partnering with God in redemption and transformation.

The gospel is the cure for the human soul. It is the greatest message on earth, and we are called to share it. Let Jesus assure us that the harvest is indeed plentiful!

It often takes many steps for someone to be led to turn to Christ. We continue to sow seeds through prayer and ask for opportunities to testify to who Jesus is.

Before we minister to people, we must first minister to the Lord. In Acts 13:1–4, we discover that the believers at Antioch worshipped the Lord before God gave confirmation of his call to set apart Barnabas and Saul for ministry.

Let us repent and love as we first did, desiring a young, fresh love — a flame that is not hidden but that burns brightly for all to see.

As we pray for conversions over these days, let us remember: the greater the oneness across the Body of Christ, and the deeper the love within it, the more fruitful our witness will be.

I cannot stop pondering how perfectly perfect God is. Life is complicated. We mess up, and sometimes we even give up on God. But God never gives up on us.

It is through God's love to us and through us that the world will know that we are Jesus' disciples.

How extraordinary that Christ would ask us to be his ambassadors! This is a far higher honour than representing a country — this is representing the Creator of the heavens and the earth!
