This year’s Australian Church and State Summit (CAS) kicks off on Friday with a line-up like no other.

From June 12 to Saturday, June 13, CAS will run seven 2-hour sessions featuring speakers from Pembrokeshire in Wales to Canberra.

Founded by Dave Pellowe, CAS will hold its 9th annual national summit in 2023, since its inception in 2016.

Held in Brisbane at Newmarket’s DiverCiti Centre, the event will cover Islam, social reformation, biblical patriarchy, abortion, and the changing landscape of politics.

Speaking with The Daily Declaration, Pellowe said the social reformation session will be delivered in four parts.

Specifically, four levels of government: personal, family, church and civic.

The goal here is to provide clarity on biblical visions for society and what they would look like.

From Atheist to Demonised Occultist to Christ: Jamie Zhu

Friday’s events will be capped off with a 6:30 pm worship and gospel rally celebrating Jesus Christ as the “true sovereign of Australia, her parliaments and people.”

The free Friday rally’s key speaker is former New Ager, atheist and Australian social media celebrity, Jamie Zhu.

Zhu, a full-time content creator, came to fame sharing pranks involving his dad online.

Amassing a total cross-platform following of over 10 million, he converted to Christianity in 2021.

Talking with Charlie Bakhos’ 2024 Stand for Truth podcast, Zhu recounted a life of wealth on tap, which culminated in sex, substance and self-abuse.

After messing with Reiki, Tarot and other New Age elements, the 32-year-old said he began to spiral out of control. Seeking solutions, he dug deeper into the occult.

Describing himself as once demon-possessed, Zhu coyly accepted a random invitation to go to church, only to end up finding freedom in Christ.

What followed was the beginning of his journey towards complete deliverance.

Church and State: A Program Packed Full of Frontline Leaders

Alongside sharing his testimony, Zhu will share an earlier 3:30 pm timeslot with Anthony Gray and Youth for Christ’s Paul Bedwell to discuss patriarchy, power, order and responsibility.

Other speakers scheduled to speak on the 12^th are Robbie Katter MP, Family First’s Lyle Shelton, and Answers in Genesis Australia Managing Director, Mike Foster.

Joining the distinguished Friday lineup are Bishop Ceirion Dewar, Dr Richard Shumack and Rev Mark Leach. Their topic is Islam, cultural direction and cultural compatibility.

Human Rights Law Alliance’s John Steenhof and CPAC General Manager Barclay McGain will participate in a Pellowe-led panel covering the political tide.

They will attempt to outline “what’s changing, why it’s happening now, and who will shape what comes next.”

With the help of Lola Popoola from pro-life group Birdflip, Cherish Life Qld’s Matthew Cliff, Midwife Louise Adsett and ACL Qld director Rob Norman, CAS will discuss abortion.

This coincides with CAS’s “premiere of ACL’s new documentary, Born Alive, Left to Die.”

A Session with Pauline Hanson and Malcolm Roberts

CAS’ Saturday sessions conclude with One Nation leader Pauline Hanson and One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts answering questions like: Why should Christians support the party?

All sessions, including the Hanson and Roberts appearance, have time allocated for questions and answers.

A 5:30 pm VIP meet and greet will close the 9^th annual event.

CAS said the meet and greet requires a separate ticket, and will involve most of the speakers, including Senators Pauline Hanson and Malcolm Roberts.

Political Change and the Church

Speaking further about the event, Pellowe explained that “politics is changing.”

“The Church is arising and flexing its prophetic voice to change politics in Australia,” he declared.

This change and how the Church is to respond to it is the crux of this year’s summit.

Changes to the political landscape are happening, and the Church should be ready to speak the truth of the gospel into it.
