America Was Born With a Bang in 1775. It’s Dying With a Whimper Today.

You can hear America’s death knell in a poll that showed nearly 60% of us are more concerned about possibly spreading the coronavirus by lifting restrictions “too soon” (like any time in this century) than the impact on the economy – which is sliding into another depression.
In 1775, it was live-free-or-die. Today it’s be-servile-and-stay-safe. Few care that governors don’t have the authority to place their state under house arrest. NJ Governor Phil Murphy says the Bill of Rights is “above my pay grade.” Someone should make a citizen’s arrest.
While Cuomo crows about his success in fighting a contagion with police-state tactics, the Marxist Mayor of New York is shocked that many of the criminals he’s released from the city’s jails (out of concern for their precious health) are committing more crimes.

The heroes here – the Minutemen of 2020 — are the protestors in the streets of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida and other states, demanding an end to the medical reign of terror and – OMG! – not keeping the sacred social distancing.
America was born in Concord on April 19, 1775 – almost exactly 245 years ago – when Mr. Emerson’s embattled farmers, their flag to April’s breeze unfurled, fired the shot heard round the world. We were born with a bang. We’re dying with a whimper.
