COVID19 Call to Prayer – May 28: My Cup Overflows
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters, He refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for His name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil,
for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
~ Psalm 23:1-6
The most famous of all the Psalms. Meditate upon it. Pray it. Live it.
“To fall in love with God is the greatest romance;
to seek Him, the greatest adventure;
to find Him, the greatest human achievement.”
~ Augustine
Petition: Please join with us in praying for:
1. Qatar – The number of confirmed cases is 48,947, with 30 deaths of those with Covid-19.
Why is the Qatar death rate so low? Most of the infections are in young people and their hospital facilities are excellent.
2. South Australia – now has had 440 cases (up 5 from a week ago), with 4 deaths (up 0).
In Australia there have been 7,139 cases (up 6). There have been 103 deaths (up 1).
6,566 people have recovered (up 13). 30 are in hospital (6 in ICU).
1,338,321 people have been tested, with 0.5% being positive.
3. India and China have had skirmishes on their border in the past week – the situation is very volatile.
4. The Remdesivir treatment has now been authorised to be offered on the NHS in the UK. It is a treatment, not a vaccine.
5. Gradually churches and ministries are beginning public meetings together.
In NSW the churches are pointing out the injustice of pubs and gambling establishments being allowed to have 50 people, but churches only 10.
A Prayer of Repentance:
Almighty and everlasting God,
Who is always more ready to hear than we are to pray,
and to give more that either we desire, or deserve;
pour down upon us the abundance of Your mercy;
forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid,
and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask,
but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. Amen.
A Prayer of Thanksgiving:
O Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,
we bless You for Your leading, refreshment,
guidance, presence, comfort, table, anointing, goodness and love.
They are ours forever. Hallelujah!

The first person to take issue with Donald Trump’s insistence that there are only two genders was an Episcopalian priest. Of course. Bishop Marianne Budde used her Washington pulpit, tilted to the left, to berate the President for — of all things — agreeing with Moses.

I am using "and" in my title more as a type of contrast. So, I am not saying the recent Trump inauguration was a Christian revival, but some similarities can nonetheless be mentioned.

Like Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon's Jeff Bezos seems to have made peace with the incoming president — so much so that he’s ordered the world’s biggest online retailer to scale down DEI.
