We have heard the cry of ‘conspiracy theory’ for 15 months now. It is losing its punch. I recall the boy who cried wolf.

The ‘conspiracy theory’ label is used for everything that doesn’t fit a particular narrative, but as fact after fact slowly emerges — for those who bypass the ‘fact checkers’ and check the facts for themselves — the voice of the boy who cried wolf is becoming increasingly faint.

Just recently in the Weekend Australian, we learned from Sharri Markson of a document called The Unnatural Origin of SARS and New Species of Man-Made Viruses as Genetic Bioweapons. This document was written by Chinese scientists and discussed at the highest levels of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). It describes SARS coronaviruses as a “new era of genetic weapons” that can be “artificially manipulated into an emerging human disease virus, then weaponised and unleashed in a way never seen before”.

In other words, coronaviruses can be deliberately manipulated after all — they can be man-made, so to speak. And the Chinese are working on these experiments for military purposes in Wuhan.

Is China the only country doing this type of research? Of course not. Many countries all around the world perform gain-of-function (GoF) experiments on viruses — changing animal viruses to become deadly human pathogens which can be easily transmitted.

What’s so special about Covid-19?

What sets the novel coronavirus apart is the ‘Furin Cleavage’. Furin is an enzyme encoded by the FURIN gene. Some proteins are inactive when first synthesised, and they must have sections removed in order to become active. So Furin cleaves a tiny site on the end of the coronavirus’s spike protein in order to make the virus capable of joining to human spike proteins.

This unique Furin cleavage doesn’t occur naturally. Covid-19 infects bats by a different mechanism than it does humans, and for this, the Furin Cleavage is not required. Genetically modified humanised rats with human-like respiratory systems are used in GoF research. This has caused the virus to be extremely and unusually well-adapted for human-to-human transmission right from the beginning. This strongly suggests that it can only have been created in a lab. It is very difficult to explain this fully formed, well-designed feature in the natural emergence scenario theory.

How can the whole world justify the GoF research involving the most dangerous experiments mankind has ever conducted? We are told that this research is conducted so that we can better understand the virus and stay ahead of nature — so that when the virus does change naturally, we’ll be ready with a vaccine.

Currently there are 11 labs in America alone doing this type of research. Many say this is a huge mistake. In fact, such research was banned explicitly by the U.S. government under the Obama administration. The moratorium specifically barred funding of any GoF research that increased the pathogenicity of the flu, MERS or SARS viruses.

Unfortunately for the world, Dr Anthony Fauci himself wrote a loophole into the moratorium — a footnote on page two of the document stating that, “An exception from the research pause may be obtained if the head of the U.S. Government funding agency determines that the research is urgently necessary to protect the public health or international security.”

Dr Fauci signed off on this himself. He kept the deadly experiments going, even though it was extremely implausible to assert that the research was “urgently needed to protect public health or national security”.

The pandemic would never have occurred if Dr Anthony Fauci hadn’t allowed it to.

Can we trust China?

Consider the evidence and decide if you think we can trust China. The aforementioned leaked Chinese document was reported on by the Epoch Times. According to their report,

Deploying such bioweapons would be more advantageous than using conventional warfare and military actions, the authors argued, because military moves can be traced back to the state and result in international condemnation.

Genetic weapons, on the other hand, “can be concealed [in deployment] and it is hard finding evidence against them,” the authors wrote.

“Even in the face of academic, virological, or animal evidence, [one can] deny, prevent [someone from raising the issue], suppress [possible accusations], leaving international organizations and righteous people helpless.”

There are other pertinent facts that we know from our own recent history. We know that China covered up the SARS 2003 outbreak. We know that China allowed 1 million people from Wuhan who had recently returned home after the Chinese New Year to travel all over the world, even though Covid-19 had been in their community since early December.

We know that China lied to the world about the virus being infectious. We know that whistleblowers from within China have disappeared or have been arrested. We know that China destroyed virus samples, and that China shamed and punished doctors who first sounded the alarm about a new virus. Indeed, the medical data from the first patients of the coronavirus has been hidden from the world.

We know that China imposed trade sanctions on Australia for asking for an investigation into the origins of the virus. This was and remains a reasonable and important request — and it still deserves to be answered today. The CCP has restricted our exports in beef, barley, wine, thermal coal, copper, cotton, seafood, sugar and timber, and warned Chinese students and tourists against travel to Australia, invoking a bogeyman of ‘violent racism’ that awaits them on Australian shores.

China called America racist for closing its borders. China appointed Tedros as head of the World Health Organisation (WHO), and WHO remains beholden to China. Tedros insisted, in January 2020, that there was no evidence for human-to-human transmission of the new virus.

Shi Zhengli, known around the world as ‘Bat Woman’, has denied that a lab leak occurred at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), yet in over a year since the outbreak she has not provided anyone with the database or laboratory records which would confirm this. China has made a serious attempt to control the conversation globally about the origins of Covid-19.

Investigating the Origins of Covid-19

An investigation into the origins of Covid-19 was recently convened by the World Health Organisation. So, what was uncovered?

Sadly, the most important data in the WIV was hidden, locked away from the investigators.
Early reports complained of a lack of cooperation from the Chinese. Peter Daszak said, “Looking for the source of this virus within China is not a great, high priority I think, for the Chinese government.”

Investigators were stopped from speaking to individuals. CCP officials were present when the Chinese scientists spoke to the investigators. This meant the investigators were not independent and the scientists were not able to speak freely.

We know that investigations of SARS and MERS, which are also coronaviruses, produced clear evidence of the steps those viruses had taken to achieve viable human transmission. This is an expected and typical finding. No evidence for Covid-19 was found in the wet markets nor the lab. So the investigation was officially deemed inconclusive.

Despite this, the final report claimed that the Chinese were very cooperative; that Covid-19 definitely wasn’t caused by a lab leak; and that the virus emerged somewhere else, even though investigators couldn’t say how or where as there no evidence was uncovered of it emerging elsewhere. In short, the investigating team found nothing. The investigative team was competent for the task given them — but they were compromised.

Who is Peter Daszak?

Peter Daszak is the only investigator to be both head of the Lancet investigating team and also appointed by WHO to the international team. He rather comically listed a fanciful range of possible origins of the virus while at the same time vehemently discounting any possibility of the origin being from the lab in Wuhan.

His other suggestions of its origins were fanciful because of the complete lack of evidence. His suggestions included cats, rats, weasels, snakes, turtles, frogs, rabbits, mustelids, pangolins, civets, as well as minks and raccoons from farms — even though they’re nowhere near Wuhan. The Chinese conducted swabs all of these animals and they were all found to be negative.

Moreover, to date, no bat population has ever been identified as the source of the virus.

There are still a small number of animal samples from the market yet to be tested. These samples are what Peter Daszak refers to when he claims there is a “clear potential pathway” for finding the origin of the virus. But now, the investigation has finished. It is unclear why those last few samples remain untested.

It is also of note that Peter Daszak, all too enthusiastically it would seem, has continued to divert our attention away from the lab he was funding: the lab which creates new coronaviruses in the city where the pandemic broke out.

In an interview, when he arrived home from Wuhan, he mentioned numerous other possible scenarios. The virus could have come from other markets, from South China or neighbouring countries like Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Japan, Cambodia or Thailand. According to him, it may have come from a bat population from hundreds of miles away. It could have come from multiple origins at once; frozen food from America; or even the U.S. military. But not the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The WHO’s final report remains unbelievable — and for a myriad of reasons. Six out of the twelve members of the Lancet’s investigating team signed Peter Daszak’s letter (which we will consider shortly) right at the beginning of the pandemic. This took place before any investigating had been done, “strongly affirming that the virus had a natural origin” — indicating the team members’ own biases prior to the investigation.

Half of the members of the teams had been put there by the CCP, and some others were supportive of the CCP. All findings had to be approved by the CCP as well as by the investigating teams.

Peter Daszak, President of the EcoHealth Alliance, specifically funded the GoF research on bat SARS-related coronaviruses conducted in the WIV. He had subcontracts of $200 million in USAID funding and $7 million in NIH funding. This exposes major conflicts of interest for all parties. What’s more, Daszak was not only a contractor, but a collaborator, and a co-author on work at the WIV on construction and analysis of novel chimeric coronaviruses. Daszak has a clear financial stake in deflecting the investigation away from the lab.

Shi Zhengli also suggests a range of diversions to take attention away from her lab.

Peter Daszak drafted a letter more than a year ago — within a week of the WHO naming the outbreak ‘Covid-19’ — condemning the ‘conspiracy theories’ suggesting that Covid-19 may have come from a lab.

Published in The Lancet on February 18, 2020 and signed by 27 prominent public health scientists, this letter became an influential statement. It used terminology like “We stand strongly together” and “strongly affirm that the virus had a natural origin”. This article has been quoted and referred to endlessly for the past year. Absurdly, the last line of the letter reads: “We declare no competing interests”.

Meanwhile. the cry of ‘conspiracy theory’ has echoed around the world for 15 months.

There appears to be an unholy alliance between the investigating team and the CCP. To find that the virus originated from the WIV would have been critically detrimental to both parties. The remarkable fact that the first cases were in Wuhan — and the virology lab in Wuhan is literally creating this very virus — seems not to have made impression on the investigators.

Lab Leak: Crazy Conspiracy Theory or Careful Conclusion?

This is actually a sober and serious suggestion.

Nicholas Wade, former staff writer for the Science Times, wrote an extensive 11,000-word article in May 2021 urging the world to look at the science alone and to leave political ideologies aside. This article has been widely discussed. We have been strongly encouraged by numerous scientists and reporters to read the article. (A briefer article covering Mr Wade’s research is available here).

Lab leaks are well-known and well-documented. Back in 2010, Shi Zhengli wrote a paper describing a case from 2003 when infected rodents led to a deadly virus being leaked from a Chinese lab.

The former director of the Centre of Disease Control (CDC) Robert Redfield said it is not unusual for respiratory pathogens to infect a worker at a lab. He argues that Covid-19 came from a lab.

Professor Nikolai Petrovski from Adelaide described how he believed the virus came from a lab, but no-one would publish his paper.

Even Daszak-the-Denier, in 2015 co-authored an article in the journal Nature entitled, Spillover and pandemic properties of Zoonotic viruses with high host plasticity, in which he warned that laboratories are one of the most dangerous settings for major spillover events. According to his own logic, the coronavirus, being airborne, can conceivably escape a lab.

On December 9, 2019, Peter Daszak bragged in a videoed interview about how easy it is to manipulate coronaviruses. He said, “The Spike protein drives what happens with the coronavirus. You simply get the sequence, build the protein and insert it into the backbone of another virus and do some work in the lab,” making the virus very contagious to humans.

 

Just a short time after this video was recorded, it became clear that a new version of coronavirus was running rampant through Wuhan, China, and the world.

Since then, Peter Daszak has strenuously denied that the Wuhan lab was linked to the outbreak. He quickly penned his letter for The Lancet, encouraged others to sign it, and then, without evidence, labelled the lab leak hypothesis a ‘conspiracy theory’.

Daszak claimed that the possibility of the virus originating from the Wuhan lab was “so unlikely that it was not worth further investigation”. He said, “That the this virus escaped from a lab is just pure baloney”. Daszak’s remarks seem insincere to say the least. But Daszak’s remarks themselves were pure baloney.

The Questions That Remain

All of this leaves us with more questions than answers. For example, why is Tedros Adhanom — who insisted in January 2020 that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission of Covid-19 — still in charge of the WHO?

Why couldn’t a world expert on virology like Professor Nikolai Petrovski get his paper published for a year? “It definitely came from a lab, but no-one would publish that,” the professor has since remarked.

Why wasn’t there an investigation into the origins of the virus at the beginning of the pandemic? Will Dr Anthony Fauci explain why he and the U.S. government fund this kind of research in China? Will Dr Fauci explain why he discredited the lab leak theory so quickly. Or will they just re-write the history of 2020?

Why, even now, is the investigation still nothing more than a propaganda exercise? How did we become so ideologically divided and biased that facts and truth are no longer central as we consider what has occurred in the last 15 months?

Who is responsible for my health? (And by this we don’t mean that WHO is responsible for my health!) Will media outlets begin to change their rhetoric? Should we be asking more questions about why this research needs to happen? Why are we so prone to fear?

 

Can anything be done at a grassroots level to address the fact that such authoritative and persuasive people — with powerful political sway, and dealing with vast sums of money — acted in their own interests at the expense of truth and public health?

Most of all, perhaps, why have so many people been silenced and cancelled, and called conspiracy theorists?

There is an immediate problem that must be addressed: virologists all over the world are right now conducting the dangerous experiments we have described. If the virus can — or indeed, did — escape from a lab, these scientists need to know what extra precautions to take.

If China insists the virus did not escape from WIV, they need to be open and transparent with the data so that scientists throughout the rest of the world can know conclusively, one way or another.

The sole responsibility of those charged with the investigation was to ensure that it had unquestionable integrity. They did not achieve this. The CCP, the WHO, the WIV, The Lancet, EcoHealth Alliance, the NIH, the USAID and the American, UK and Australian governments behaved shamefully, resulting in little more than an investi-‘propagand’-ation

Perhaps all of these bodies intend to persevere with the ‘conspiracy theory’ label, but their voice has grown very faint.

To cry ‘conspiracy theory’, so quickly, so continuously and with such amplification is to cry wolf. As Shakespeare wisely said,

“The lady doth protest too much, methinks.”

The whole world and the three million souls who died have been betrayed. Truth has been betrayed. Big Government, Big Pharma, Big Business, Big Tech and the mainstream media have proven themselves untrustworthy.

It’s time for the truth to come out.
