Teenager Killed for Being Republican, Death Ignored by Media
The killing of Republican teen Cayler Ellingson over his political views is a terrible travesty, but the mainstream media seem to be sweeping it under the carpet.
When 16-year-old Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann merely smiled at 64-year-old Native American activist Nathan Phillips, who approached Sandmann while the teenager was attending the 2019 March for Life with a MAGA hat on, American media jumped on the incident.
The mainstream media blew the encounter massively out of proportion, smearing Sandmann as racist, and endangered the Covington Catholic students so much that their school had to be closed due to security concerns.
Sandmann’s college offers were initially jeopardised; later, he brought a defamation suit against eight national news organisations including CNN, NBC and The Washington Post, which was settled with those three outlets for a significant sum. Years after the media fracas, he is still dealing with attacks from the Left.
Violence and Silence
On Sunday 18 September 2022, 18-year-old Republican Cayler Ellingson was run over and killed by 41-year-old Shannon Brandt for his alleged membership of an “extremist” right-wing group. While attending a street festival, they had engaged in a political argument, after which Ellingson rang his mother asking if she knew Brandt, which she did.
Brandt claimed he believed the teenager was calling people “to come get him”; on the contrary, Ellingson — a sonography student — had asked his mother for a lift to get away from the aggressive, drunk man, who was pursuing him through the streets. By the time Sheri Ellingson arrived, her son was dead and Brandt had absconded in his SUV. Brandt was released from jail in a matter of days after posting $50,000 bail.
Tim Graham at The Daily Signal notes:
“While the Fox News Channel and Newsmax both started reporting this story on Tuesday evening, Newsbusters found zero coverage on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, or MSNBC. How about our taxpayer-funded PBS and NPR? Zero coverage. The New York Times and The Washington Post had nothing.”
Divisive POTUS
President Joe Biden had recently given a speech claiming that those who support former President Trump represent an “extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.” Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul, who narrowly escaped an angry mob while walking back to a hotel with his wife in 2020, stated:
“Words can have violent consequences. President Biden needs to realize that his vilification of his opponents is inflaming some of his supporters to violence. As a victim of political violence, both sides need to recognize the consequences of heated rhetoric.”
“An 18-year-old was executed in cold blood by a Democrat political terrorist because of rhetoric like this,” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted.
“Democrats want Republicans dead, and they’ve already started the killings. Democrat’s political war against patriotic Americans must end!”

It may seem ludicrous that the United States will descend into a civil war in these modern times. But, considering the widespread riots after George Floyd’s death, may we expect further unrest and violence as the November midterm elections approach?
