A brand new Australian short film reminds women and men that there is hope after abortion. Watch ‘I’ll Speak for You’ now.
There is hope after abortion. This is the message of the brand new Australian short film ‘I’ll Speak for You’, released on 14 September.
Produced by House of Refuge and Love Australia, ‘I’ll Speak for You’ is a powerful, nine-minute film that tells the story of a wife living with the guilt and regret of an abortion.
The haunting production invites viewers into the inner world of a woman who made a choice she cannot reverse, that came with long-term implications she had never considered.
Based on true events, ‘I’ll Speak for You’ also touches on the suffering men can endure following an abortion.
Trauma, marriage difficulties and a missed calling to motherhood are among the evocative themes covered in the film, for which viewer discretion is advised, as some scenes may be distressing or confronting for some viewers.
There is Hope After Abortion
Despite its solemn tone, ‘I’ll Speak for You’ is ultimately a film about hope after abortion. Its tagline reminds viewers that “to silence the pain, you have to speak”: that healing is available to those willing to open up and share their journey with people who can help.
“During production, it became more evident to us that these stories need to be told as those suffering feel they cannot speak out,” the film’s producers explain.
“The film emphasises this truth — you are not alone — and for some, this is the encouragement they need to take the first step towards healing.”
The film’s website has been designed as a place for women who have had an abortion to share their story, hear from others, and access the help and support they need.
“It is through your bravery and courage that we can come together as one voice and stand for truth,” the website explains.
According to the non-profit White Rose Resistance:
I’ll Speak For You has opened up a door to the raw emotional truth that is post abortion. It reminds women of the lies culture feeds them. It encourages and empowers women who had abortions to say “I will speak for you my child. I will give you a voice”.
I’ll Speak for You also has an Instagram page and a YouTube channel. On the website there is a Help and Support tab directing visitors to support services in Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Africa and globally.
Say the producers, “Our hope and prayer is this film leads those hurt by abortion to find healing.”

Wonderful to give Hope and Healing ! I hate abortion because it is not just against God and Nature , but, because it is the reason I was an Only Child. I know of an old woman who is still suffering from the trauma of what she did .
