Everyday Aussie Heroes
Last week for Father’s Day, Dads4Kids Founder and CEO Warwick Marsh wrote inspiringly about Chris Woods, a 72-years-young true-blue Aussie Hero. She recently trekked to raise much-needed funds for men’s mental health from Darwin to Adelaide, an astonishing 3,100 km journey, starting on 1 May and completing her epic journey on 24 August.
A wonderful Dads4Kids delegation consisting of South Australian Senator David Fawcett and dear friends Rodney Hall and Samuel Hartwich were there to meet this incredibly brave woman. If you missed last week’s excellent Newsletter, find out more here.

Earlier this year, another true-blue Aussie hero, Martin Stevenson from PowerPlus NSW, reached out to Dads4Kids. Martin is the New South Wales distributor of PowerPlus Australian-made specialty race fuels. At SummerNats 36 in January, he kindly collected money from the sale of PowerPlus hats, caps, calendars, etc., and made a very generous donation to Dads4Kids.

Last weekend, on the beautiful Central Coast of NSW, Martin and his team hosted a Bikes, Cars and Coffee event with Senator Pauline Hanson and raised some additional much-needed funds for Dads4Kids. Warwick and I recently had the pleasure of catching up for coffee with Martin, and he is the real deal. A true-blue Aussie hero indeed!
Like Chris Woods, Martin is a courageous man, doing what he can with what he has to raise much-needed funds and awareness for the men and fathers of Australia.
It reminds me of something the Reverend Al Stewart, author of The Manual, said on a podcast several years back:
“Healthy masculinity is about being prepared to give your life in the service of others. In wartime, men do it in massive acts of courage; in peacetime, you probably do it by dying the death of 10,000 commutes. We undervalue the day-by-day commitment to say ‘I will give my life to care for people.'”
From all the team at Dads4Kids, THANK YOU to Martin Stevenson and Chris Woods. It’s Everyday Aussie Heroes like these two, along with many others, who make the world a better place for all of us.
Lovework
If you have a good look around, you’ll probably find everyday Aussie heroes are never too far away. In fact, if you’re reading this Newsletter, YOU may be an everyday Aussie hero! If so, the team at Dads4Kids salutes you! Keep on being the best dad you can be for your children. Your day-by-day commitment will make the world a better place.
Yours for Everyday Aussie Heroes,
Nathaniel Marsh

Australia still has a blasphemy law architecture that goes by a new name — namely, our vilification and anti-discrimination framework. These laws have striking parallels to Australia’s old blasphemy laws, with the exception that they serve a new god and are more readily enforced than the old ones.
