3 Christian Content Creators Worth Following in an Age of Confusion

7 January 2026

3.8 MINS

In an age of hyper-scepticism—where finding trustworthy voices online is increasingly difficult—here are three Christian apologists, Bible teachers, and commentators worth following.

“You can’t trust everything you read on the internet,” is a familiar refrain. The principle long predates artificial intelligence, but newer digital technologies have only further undermined our ability to decide whom we can trust.

Yet humans cannot function in a state of perpetual doubt.

We need trust to function—both online and in everyday life.

While it is wise to prioritise offline relationships and sources of information, we should also seek out trusted voices on the internet—people who don’t just add to the noise, who are not given to “foolish controversies” (Titus 3:9 ESV) and who exhibit the fruits of the spirit (both in the way they live and the way they conduct ministry).

In this article, I recommend three Christian content creators with established track records of public ministry and intellectual integrity. These three apologists, commentators, and theologians are among my go-to YouTube channels—and I trust that those looking for thoughtful, gracious engagement with Scripture, culture, and contemporary issues will also find them edifying.

Each creator offers a unique perspective and style—and admittedly, not all will appeal to everybody. But they are all united in their commitment to the truth of the Gospel, the authority of the Bible, and its application and relevance to us today.

My hope is that this list proves useful for those seeking clarity, depth, and Christian charity in an often-chaotic digital space.

1) Gavin Ortlund (Truth Unites)

If someone asks for a recommended Christian content creator, Gavin Ortlund is my go-to. This is despite the fact that I disagree with him on a range of theological issues.

I recommend Ortlund for several reasons. Firstly, he prioritises pastoral wisdom and theological triage—seeking clarity on which issues are worth dividing over and which (while important) should not divide Christians. The stated aim of Truth Unites (Gavin’s ministry) is “to help those who are asking deep questions, and to serve the renewal and revitalisation of the church in our time”.

“Truth Unites seeks to exhibit irenicism in its defense of Protestantism and historic Christianity, and harnesses historical retrieval and theological triage to champion unity in the gospel. The topics vary from arguments for the existence of God to explorations God’s work in church history to evaluating theological disagreement in the church today, but the goal is always greater security in the love of Jesus.”

Secondly, Ortlund combines an intelligent, historically-grounded perspective with an extremely accessible communication style. He holds a Doctorate in Historical Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary, and he studied religion and philosophy as an undergraduate.

And finally, Ortlund’s channel is not hyper-specialised. He considers theology and apologetics as well as cultural and more historically themed topics. He also has an affinity for the work and thought of C. S. Lewis—a topic that never fails to edify (and one that overlaps with my own academic interests).

2) Mike Winger (BibleThinker)

Mike Winger is an ordained pastor who has dedicated his online platform to careful, accessible, verse-by-verse teaching and apologetics. He combines a likeable, accessible communication style with careful planning and research.

According to its website, Mike’s ministry BibleThinker is committed to “equipping people to think and live biblically.” It focuses on three main areas of teaching:

1) teaching accurate theology,

2) defending the biblical/Christian worldview, and

3) applying the Bible.

Winger has demonstrated that there is still an appetite for thoughtful, longform content among younger Christians. His viewers are not just interested in peripheral treatments of Scripture—they are there for engaging deep-dives.

While there are many shorter videos available, Mike’s live streams (Q&As and regular teaching episodes) regularly continue for over an hour—and his video on 1 Tim 2:11–15 lasted for nearly twelve hours.

In recent months, Winger has dedicated significant energy to researching and exposing spiritual abuse and false teachers within various denominations—including recent “rapture predictor” scams, which affected many people around the world.

3) Ruslan KD (Bless God)

Ruslan KD provides some balance to my list of three content creators. Whereas both Mike Winger and Gavin Ortlund focus more on apologetics and theology, Ruslan engages regularly with pop culture, lifestyle, and current events.

A hip-hop artist and refugee from Baku, Azerbaijan, who moved to the United States as a child, Ruslan brings a unique perspective to the Christian faith and contemporary issues.

According to his YouTube bio, he is passionate about “leadership, mental health, and the integration of faith in everyday life”.

In recent months, Ruslan has been critical of what he terms the “woke Right”—which includes figures like Candace Owens, Tucker Carlson, and Nick Fuentes—a movement he argues victimises people and encourages them to give up responsibility for their own lives. He has urged people to consider taking a 30-day break from content that tells them they are victims and the world is against them.

These are just three of my go-to Christian content creators—people I generally trust to provide thoughtful, insightful, and Biblically-grounded takes on contemporary issues, theological debates, and challenges to the Christian faith.

Do you have any creators you would add to the list?

To be honest, Mike Winger is the only oneI have heard of, and my introduction to his online ministry wS not a happy one.
probably about a year ago, I just happened to stumble upon couple of his online videos where he was berating and mocking Brandon Biggs, a “watchman for the Lord” from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The posts were titled “The New and Dangerous False Prophet.”
Having watched Brandon and his wife, Diana on their “Last Days” video posts, I truly believe he is a man of God who consistently hears the voice of the Holy Spirit downloading to hom often detailed prophetic insight.
Winger’s dismissive and mocking attitude towards Brandon Biggs was enough to never want to watch him again.

I don’t follow people on YouTube or use it as my means of understanding the Bible. I read numerous time tested and proven commentaries. We also read the Bible three times a day. Historically tested writings and Gods Word.
You can ponder a passage in the Bible or book so much better than a fleeting sentence in a video. You can study it, test it. One can say yes I can study and test what someone says in a video too? Yes you can, but what are you going to study and test it against, another Video? You’ll be going straight to some form of written proven words. From the lesser to the better.
Unfortunately this is why this generation is so clueless and struggles to use logic and is so easily lead astray. They see books and written word as old fashioned and prefer their information in the click of a button and view of some talker on YouTube.
Hearing things is good but true learning and studying through the written word is another level.
Get some time proven commentaries that are in line with Gods Word and study them and God’s Word.
As for watching these people’s videos, I would first search and read what exactly their confession of faith is, where they stand Biblically from the Creation of the World in 6 days, the inerrancy of Gods Word, and the sole worship of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Their beliefs in Salvation and Gods Grace.
I would do all this before I clicked on any video claiming to be Christian. I’ll test and prove them before I start digesting them.

Frank Turek with the website cross examined.org is very good. I also like Allie Beth Stuckey with Relatable on YouTube.

Hey Cody, thank you so much for these three people, I have never hear of them and find them all good. I love the young people and their honesty and transparency in their love for God, i find Mike Winger great in his interpretation, and making me think about what I think about, and the blue eyed Gavin is awesome. Thanks for opening up more perspectives for me, yes we have to check and sift and filter all things, even old commentaries, Hey I even need people to help me walk biblically. As Forrest said, we all fall short, we all need grace toward one another. Speaking the truth to one another in love and speaking to edify and lift up. That is a lifelong challenge. Blessing to you all, wonderful Cory, thanks.

Mike Winger is fantastic highly recommend people check him out of themselves rather than just taking the word of those in the comments sections, including mine.

Gavin Ortlund is also very solid.

We could discuss this all day long and this probably isn’t the best place for such a back and forth. Please take the time to watch the links.

    Ortlund 👍
    Winger 👍

Ruslan 👎 (anyone who has Michael L Brown as a hero needs to be given a very wide berth).

Do you have any creators you would add to the list?

Yeah OK (gulp!), good question. So here goes – creators of Christian content, top 3:

    1. An absolute wealth of knowledge and quite possibly the greatest scholar of the New Testament the world has ever seen (I know that’s a big call) but given the access we have today to resources and manuscripts and what not, Bart Ehrman is clearly today’s leading authority on the Christian text. And the great thing is not only is he the best scholar, he’s the best teacher as well. Much of his content creation is about taking the study of the New Testament out of the faculties and making it available to lay people. He takes complex theology and turns it into language we all understand and can relate to.

His daily blog is also excellent. I pay a few bucks every month and it all goes to charity (like water for Africans… nice!).

    https://ehrmanblog.org/

    2. The Remnant Radio – I like these guys mainly for the guests they have on (and they have a great variety!). Their main focus is on the gifts but they do a lot of other stuff as well (like debunking false prophecies and making fun of the Word of faith movement, like Michael Winger does!) .

    https://www.youtube.com/@TheRemnantRadio

Speaking of which, a footnote mention to Justin Peters – who’s a regular with the RR guys (despite being a cessationist and the boys being continualist). His Didache channel is also good if you just want to have a laugh at the Blab it and grab it crowd. (https://www.youtube.com/@JustinPetersMin)

    3. Another regular on the RR before he died was Dr Michael Heiser. The great thing is that despite his death, there is still a coalition of people collaborating, consulting and co-designing in order to continue Christian content creation.

    Hugely popular and wonderfully enriching.

While I still love going to church on Sunday and getting some good teaching, these are the podcasts I listen to during the week.

  10. Kurt Mahlburg

Thanks for this article Cody — very well written and presented. On your recommendation, I’ve been finding Mike Winger very helpful. He’s got a gracious, approachable tone even as he addresses very difficult issues — the cover-up culture series in particular.

I do, however, have strong reservations about Gavin Ortlund. His promotion of Third Wayism and contention that Christians should take up the issue of climate change are big red flags to me. Megan Basham has addresses these issues at length. In fact, Megan Basham is one such content creator I’d recommend if I put my own list together!

Thanks for your comment, Kurt. Mike Winger is one of my go-tos for exactly the reasons you listed—as well as his meticulous theological research.

I totally get those reservations about Ortlund. I actually disagree with a lot of his theology as well (which I think is a more fundamental issue). However, what I value is his uniquely historically-grounded analyses of theological matters, his pastoral and gracious approach, and his use of theological triage to identify (not always necessarily accurately) which issues are “hills to die on” and which should not result in broken fellowship. I also deeply appreciate his interest in C. S. Lewis (something we both share). There is a lot of value to be found in his videos.

I’ve tried (within reason) to include a bit of theological and political diversity in this list—I think if people regularly listen to all three creators on this list, they will find themselves challenged at various points and I think that is healthy!
