Uber Woke
Uber’s new feature, designed to ensure women’s safety, may just end up doing the opposite — thanks to the rideshare app’s embrace of prevailing gender ideology.
In a bid to ensure safety, Uber has announced a new feature that allows female drivers working late at night to preference female passengers.
That makes sense.
A female driver working late would feel much more confident knowing she will be dealing with other women rather than with men. And, presumably, it will be better for female passengers.
But wait. We are living in the progressive left’s Woketopia, right? So you just know there will be a catch. And of course, there is.
Gender Identity
The feature is for drivers who “identify as women or non-binary”.
This leaves open the potential for a man who identifies as a woman, or as non-binary, to target female passengers.
At this point, I need to note that there is no such thing as “non-binary”. They might as well say “drivers who identify as women or unicorns”. But I digress.
An Uber Australia spokeswoman said:
“By providing greater peace of mind with Women Rider Preference, we hope to support women and non-binary driver-partners in amplifying their current earning hours, while unlocking barriers preventing Australian women and non-binary individuals from accessing flexible earnings that support their ambitions.”
So an initiative designed to protect women drivers becomes an initiative that could potentially enable men to target women passengers.
And, all the while, progressives congratulate themselves for being enlightened.
Uber? Uber woke.

Love your humour James. We need dad’s husbands brothers n women to stand up n call out this trap being set for women, by the left. Is it so difficult to imagine what it’s like to b alone or in any way vulnerable with some of these disturbed men.
