Awakening begins when we remember the love that awakened our hearts in the first place.

Are you in a battle, trying to fight in your own strength? Is the Lord asking you to trust in his sovereign rule and to ‘drop your weapon’?

When we live in God’s presence, anchored in his Word and secure in Christ, we can stand unshakeable amid life’s challenges.

As the disciples discovered through a huge haul of fish, we can trust Jesus for a net-breaking, boat-sinking catch of people.

Following Paul's example in Ephesians 1, let us pray for the Father to open the eyes of our hearts so that we may grasp the hope of his calling, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and the greatness of his power towards us who believe.

Prayer is active partnership with God, and he is awakening his body to prayer, not by might or by power, but by his Spirit.

When we ask God, "What is in my hand?", and see our possessions, money and time as seed that God asks us to sow, life becomes simpler.

The one who is worthy of it all is awakening his Church to be captivated by him, so that we will honour one another and share his gospel with humility and courage.

31 October is a historic day of reformation and revival. This end of month, let's gather together on this day which holds deep wells of revival, and ask God to do it again.

Christians were accused of "turning the world upside down" in Acts 17:6. Let's pray to awaken the Church and do exactly that.

Scripture teaches us to pray the "prayer of faith", because without faith it is impossible to please God.

Paul prayed that we would be awakened to a deeper revelation of the Father and who we are in Christ, so that we will make Jesus known to others more passionately.

Every season of life belongs to Christ, and we don't retire from discipleship as we grow older. In fact, our older years hold unique gifts for the younger generations.

Seeking the face of God means surrender, laying aside our agenda and wants. Revival begins when we want God himself more than we want the outcome.

Jesus is calling us to love one another “just as I have loved you”. And if the Church does awaken to that agape (love), the world will see a great and powerful witness to Christ and his kingdom.

Before anything else, we must make prayer central. I urge the Church in Australia to awaken to, first of all, prayer.

Australia needs a courageous Church that never separates courage from Christian love — the courage of Peter and John, who, when ordered to cease speaking about Jesus, responded: “We can't stop.”

The church in Ephesus had so much going for it. Yet despite their hard work, perseverance, endurance, and discernment, there was something deeply wrong: they had left their first love.

In the week leading up to Christ’s crucifixion, Jesus' soul was troubled. He responded with a bold prayer, and his example challenges us to that same boldness.

Jesus offers us intimate friendship, which produces great joy as we walk closely with him.
