Even the Corrupt Media Couldn’t Save Tim Walz’s Career
By exposing widespread fraud in the state of Minnesota, a scrappy social media influencer has ended Governor Tim Walz’s political career — the man who almost became America’s vice president. Welcome to the future of journalism.
Tim Walz — the Minnesota Governor who almost became Vice President of the United States — has made the sensational decision to bow out of politics.
On Monday, he announced he’ll no longer seek a third term in the state’s top job, citing discussions with his family, the distraction of campaigning, and his enduring belief that Donald Trump is somehow to blame for everything.
What actually ended Walz’s political career was a 23-year-old social media influencer with an iPhone and a list of questions the legacy media refused to ask.
Nick Shirley’s exposé of Somali fraud across the Twin Cities, released just after Christmas, has been viewed almost 140 million times.
🚨 Here is the full 42 minutes of my crew and I exposing Minnesota fraud, this might be my most important work yet. We uncovered over $110,000,000 in ONE day. Like it and share it around like wildfire! Its time to hold these corrupt politicians and fraudsters accountable

For days, a corrupt national media refused to follow up on evidence provided by Shirley that Somali immigrants were thieving potentially billions of dollars in public funds by running fake daycare centres.
When the media finally weighed in on the scandal, it was mostly to run hit pieces on Nick Shirley — and run cover for Tim Walz, who’d turned a blind eye for years while the racket flourished.
In one particularly galling report, a CNN ‘journalist’ phoned a list of daycare centres, only one of which answered. When the centre declared itself legitimate, that was apparently good enough for the network.
Rather than applauding @nickshirleyy for investigating the Minneapolis daycare fraud, @CNN released this hit piece on him.

The corrupt press spent the following days variously denying Shirley’s claims of fraud in Minnesota; conceding the fraud but denying it’s as bad as he alleges; acknowledging the fraud and praising Tim Walz for addressing it; and claiming there’s so much fraud the government can’t stop it.
And make no mistake: it was the fraud that ended Walz’s career, his brief press release mentioning ‘fraud’ and ‘fraudsters’ no less than seven times.
Indeed, in the latest news, the Trump administration is sending 2,000 federal agents to dismantle Minnesota’s fraud empire, and Trump has personally accused Walz of corruption and theft, alleging his complicity in the racket as the reason he quit the race.
It turns out that all the wagon-circling in the world can’t save some political careers.
Walz should be ashamed of his inept leadership of the North Star State. But the lion’s share of shame belongs to the media machine that burned the last of its credibility defending him.
Why haven’t the cable news networks been out door-knocking on suspicious businesses since the feds started probing fraud back in 2021? Isn’t that why their career exists in the first place?
As independent commentator Melissa Chen has pointed out, it was Nick Shirley alone who was practicing real journalism: pounding the pavement, asking hard questions and reporting what he discovered — precisely the blue-collar tradition the credentialed press has long since abandoned.
Instead of investigating fraud, the elite media spent its energy sliming Shirley as a ‘MAGA YouTuber’ and an outsider, all in an effort to gate-keep their profession and shield one of America’s worst governors just because they like his politics.
Sorry, but that’s not journalism.
Which is why the legacy media has never been more unpopular, and why increasing numbers of people are relying on platforms like X for their news instead.
It’s also why the world’s authoritarian governments are so hellbent on dismantling X. After all, it’s much easier to destroy things than build them.
But the future belongs the builders — which is why the Nick Shirleys of the world are the future of news.

Nick Shirley’s story of perseverance is inspirational and the legacy medias refusal to tell the story there enduring shame!!!
Don’t accept Australian and other, especially English-speaking countries’ versions of the “Truth “. Read “X” and many independent ” You Tube ” posts. Fraud in Minnesota ended any hope of Walz’s return to political life . Good ! Well done journalist Nick Shirley . There should be more clones of you.
What an amazing and courageous young man. Just goes to show we all need to plug away at truth and our collective good wins out.
Hopefully many mainstream media journos have read this brilliant expose. Of the serious decline in the objectivity of their profession.
Nick’s “Older man known as David” deserves most of the credit as he appears to have been the one who first saw the fraud and started doing something about it by investigating it.
Nick releied heavily on “David’s” research when publishing the findings.
By staying out of the limelight “David” has avoided the flack that Nick is getting from the leftards.
