NZ Admits Evangelicals Were Fictional ‘Terrorist’ Targets in 2025 War Games
Leaked documents reveal the New Zealand Defence Force used fictional Evangelical Christian “insurrectionists” in war games, sparking debate over ideology, military training, and narrative warfare.
The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) has confirmed that Evangelical Christians were fictional targets in recent war games.
Responding to leaked material made public by independent journalist Penny Marie, the NZDF said that, although Christians were targeted, no harm or offence was intended.
Categorising a group as a threat for the use in training was not about warring “against any particular religion or ideology”, wrote NZDF chief of staff, Brigadier Grant Motley, in a letter dated 5 February 2026.
“The characterisation of various groups and forces as allied or opposing forces may change from scenario to scenario,” Motley explained.
In other words, no harm, no foul.
Fictional Christians as Combatants
Notwithstanding Motley’s reassurances, the fictional scenario involves the NZDF fighting what are essentially Christian nationalists.
The Visayan Peoples Front (VPF) are Christians depicted as armed terrorists, who can be hunted down.
VPF are, Motley said, “a predominantly Christian group with separatist aims to establish a new fictional Visayan state broadly modelled on Christian values.”
A US Department of War’s narrative for VPF states that their quest for independence expanded into a war on Islamification.
VPF, so the war game backstory goes, “wants to deport all Muslims and create a Christian nation.”
Implying national socialism, the fictional Evangelical Christian “insurrectionists” are additionally designated “quasi-socialists.”
Imported Scenarios from the United States
Both America and Australia have used the wargame hypothetical to train their warfighters.
As Motley confirmed, the NZDF used the Christian-Nationalists-are-terrorists scenario four times throughout 2025.
First for a “Junior NCO course, then for Exercise Urban Warrior, Exercise Cassino, and Exercise Belesia Stability.”
Motley added that New Zealand adopted the US-based Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE) AI scenario-building tool in 2021.
DATE helps, he said, “simplify and reduce the need for New Zealand to develop and maintain its own unique training environment.”
This, Motley added, “enables interoperability with international partners, and to support detailed live, virtual, and constructive training in a modern operating environment.”
The DATE system, his letter further explained, is “managed by the US Army Training and Transformation Command.”
“They create fictional narratives and, as required, overlay additional information to meet specific training needs.”
Culture War Parallels
Alarmed by the leaked material, Penny Marie said the scenario “explicitly mirrors Maori-Christian history and present-day rural/urban political divides.”
These broader concerns are justified.
Motley’s description of VPF isn’t all that dissimilar to Destiny Church’s pro-New Zealand First movement, led by Brian Tamaki.
Tamaki has also led protests against Hinduisation of New Zealand and counter-protested Pride parades.
As Marie observed, “the wargame script reads like a cut-and-paste of today’s culture war,”
It “treats conservative or Christian worldviews as a security problem, which it is not.”
Such an approach to military training looks a lot like “fifth‑generation warfare,” she said.
This utilises “narrative, language and training materials to dehumanise, destabilise and push populations toward crisis so a pre-baked “solution” can be imposed.”
Ideology or Neutral Training?
Marie then connected the wargame scenario to NZDF’s $46,000 plus commitments to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), Pride pledges, and compulsory LGBTQI+ sensitivity training.
“Christians are extremists” implications underpin such training.
Therefore, this is “public money underwriting an ideological programme, not just neutral ‘inclusion’”, she concluded.
The same should be asserted about DATE’s wargame scenarios being used to seemingly prepare soldiers for slaughtering Christians.
Especially those who want to preserve national and cultural identity by rejecting multiculturalism and Islamification.
In an open letter dated December 2025, Marie and colleague Rachel Scott slammed the basis of the wargame, stating,
“Trans rights activists label ordinary citizens who reject trans ideology as ‘extreme right-wing Christians’, which is untrue.”
This dangerously translates into the NZDF “grooming a mindset in which ordinary New Zealanders of certain beliefs can be mentally placed on the other side of the gun.”

“….no harm or offence was intended…” !? what would the Kiwis practice how to kill other people or faith people? I thought New Zealand was our friend.
This is intended to create a false narrative about where terrorism actually comes from. Yes the far right can be violent , as evidenced by the horrific attack on the Christchurch mosque, but even this wasn’t motivated by Christianity. Tarrant was a cultural Christian (at best) and was perhaps a deist. Shame on the NZ government for smearing Christian’s in this way
The Christchurch Mosque attack was a false flag event to give the government the mandate for stricter gun control, just like the FF Port Arthur and another one recently. Look at these videos and it starts to answer questions like, “Why was there a big Police convention nearby on that day?’ and why did someone in the mosque have a gun there?

It is time for people to deeply question everything and do as Jesus taught as to judging by the fruit. In this case, they make the Muslims look like victims, reduce the capacity for ordinary citizens to protect themselves when the government shows their hand and becomes a dictatorship, and generally reduces the freedom of law abiding citizens.
Wow, when they tell you who they are, believe them the first time!
Christians are the low hanging fruit here.
Try running this scenario with Islam and see how far you get.
It’s pathetic, but to be expected.
Christians are now the future ” enemy ” to be killed by NZ Defence Forces. That is why people in the Anglosphere have been disarmed . It’s not to “protect Jews ” . Wake up unarmed Australians to our future–a bullet in the eyes or head like in Iran. Wish I had the money to live in Christian , armed USA! Australians and British are relocating there. Unlike a segment of our Aboriginal Community – traitors who march to make Australia part of the “Global Intifada “, ie conquest of the whole World by Islam, the native Maori are Christian and march in “True Patriots of NZ” , ” Man Up ” and “Real Men ” protesting against “Pride Marches “. It is interesting that although the Koran and hadiths ban homosexuality, Afghanistan has a history of homosexuality and paedophilia and even of boys as young as 10 years old sold into sexual slavery. See Ali Tabrizi ‘s “The Dancing Boys of Afghanistan ” and many other sites that expose the crime. How much have our individual politicians and bureaucrats been paid in bribes to sell out Australians?
Thank you, Rod, for this very vital but alarming report. We knew it was coming but we often only see or hear ‘leaked’ news or truthful reports in hindsight…But no matter how alarming or how unjust it does help prepare us for the future Jesus gave the warning, ‘be not deceived’ and ‘to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves’. He also said ‘you will be hated for my name’s sake’ and that ‘you will be delivered up….but ‘You will be given the words to speak.’
Revelation says many believers are to be beheaded for their faith but God has limited the number and says it will be fulfilled at exactly His time….Meanwhile we hold onto His words and promises: ‘they overcame by the blood of the Lamb and testimony of Jesus.’…Through Jesus example on the cross, by His resurrection and His testimony, we shall be overcomers
This is totally crazy. Thanks Rod for letting us know about this travesty!!!!
Come on Kiwis! where is your ANZAC spirit?
The most prominent Salvation Army Chaplain at Gallipoli was
Chaplain-Major William “Fighting Mac” McKenzie, a legendary figure in the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) during World War I.
This hero was considered one of the best-loved men in Australia after the war, a true Christian, having provided both spiritual and, in true Salvo tradition, practical “cup of tea” support to the troops.
