We now have had two assassination attempts on former President Donald J. Trump in two months. Thankfully, both attempts have not succeeded, but how many more such attempts will occur?

The Western church today is now in its own Babylonian captivity. We are now strangers in a strange land. How, then, are we to respond to all this? There are at least seven main responses from the story of Daniel that we should bear in mind as we ponder our situation today.

Our hearts are not as they should be. Our souls are not as they should be. Our spiritual condition is in a real bad way. We are all in need of radical spiritual surgery, or we are all goners. There are many biblical texts that speak to this.

It seems to me – and it should be clear to any impartial observer – that there were two main losers here: the American people, and the network that hosted the debate.

Life-long Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr has now ended his presidential bid and has thrown his support to Donald Trump. That should shake up the American election a bit.

By now, most of you would have heard about what some church leaders might be doing in the UK. It seems they think the word “church” might turn people off, so there is discussion about whether or not the word “church” should be retained.

The pro-death religion being seen so clearly at the DNC should be enough to convince any sensible person, any moral person, and certainly any Christian, what a demonised group of people these really are.

I want to disabuse folks of the faulty notion that unity is something we must have at all costs, and division is only always wrong. Sure, unity is important, but so is truth. And the reality is, when truth is affirmed, sometimes it results in unity, but sometimes it results in division.

There have been deliberate attempts made to undermine the Gospel and the churches, and to see them replaced with fake gospels and fake churches. And this even involves some well-known evangelicals.
