The cancelling of opinions and the censoring of ideas is how all totalitarian societies thrive and survive. The examples of this sort of thing are of course endless today, even in so-called free and democratic societies. And that makes it even scarier.

Every day, we learn of new reports of the steady decline of the West. There are various aspects to this. On the one hand, we have the rise and rise of political Islam in Europe, and on the other hand is the ongoing campaign of demoralisation and delegitimatisation of the West.

For Kamala Harris to team up with Tim Walz, we have the most radical, the most “progressive”, and the most dangerous pair seeking to run for the top job in American history. And, of course, the lamestream media is colluding with the pair to try to paint both of them as “moderates”!

Here, I must ask this of all my readers: Who will join me in committing to pray daily for folks like Musk and Peterson and so many others who seem to be on a real spiritual journey? They really do need our prayers.

We see all over the world, especially in the West, people being given over to their sin. The sacrilegious and blasphemous display in the Paris Olympics is just one of millions of examples of this.

Here are two stories of how bad early circumstances or decisions made in one’s youth need not keep us trapped in just one path defined by our past. We can grow, we can change, and we can make a real difference, especially with the help of Christ.

All up, it was a stirring and unifying convention. The Party is now strong and united. As always, we need to keep America in our prayers. We need to pray for the November election. And we need to keep politicians like Trump and whoever his opponent might be in our prayers.

One of Australia’s greatest pro-family, pro-life and pro-women campaigners has just passed away at age 93. While many champions can be singled out in Australia for their work in defending Christian and conservative values, surely Babette would be among the leaders here.

We should pray for the nations that we live in. When the enemy wants to bring hatred and division and bloodshed, we can pray for the opposite. Hateful rhetoric needs to be nipped in the bud, on all sides of politics. Please pray for Trump and his full recovery, and please pray for America.

Calling Trump a threat to democracy and freedom, a fascist, a Hitler, a dictator, a danger to society, evil, and so on has been par for the course not just for Biden, but so many Democrat leaders, media outlets, and leftist organisations and outlets.

The Puritans themselves sought clear certainty as to God’s truth in its practical bearing, and believed that they had been given it. Their very quest sharpened both their moral sensibilities and their insight into the Bible. May God give us consciences to apply His truth and live by it.

Any believer who is even somewhat biblically literate and is aware of what is happening in the world today will know perfectly well that the Christian life is not a bed of roses, but a struggle. It is in fact a life of battle and warfare, with good and evil being fought out every single day.

If you spend time on social media, you will come across some of the many videos posted of animals being rescued, especially dogs, and even puppies. And that, of course, is a picture of what God does for us lost sinners – He rescues us and loves us, and makes us a part of His family.

God is near to us and close to us. Unlike the teaching of deism, which states that God made the world but has basically left it to run on its own with no involvement from Him, the Bible teaches us that God is wholly present with and ever active in all that He has created.

Since God is God, how can He in any way become better or better off or enriched? How can He increase in any way as a result of us blessing Him?

A major issue Paul had to deal with was the “super-apostles”. These were leaders and teachers (often false teachers) who tended to put their personalities, their prestige, and their power forward as their credentials. Today, things are no different, with celebrity preachers.

When criminals, murderers and rapists – be they migrants or home-grown – are treated much more favourably than their victims, then you know we are on a fast road to oblivion. Several high-profile cases in recent days show how far down the tubes the West has gone.

We must be careful that we do not end up being an empire builder, a kingdom builder. We must be very careful, in other words, that in our effort to serve the Lord, we do not get proud, and do not think we are going to be the next best Christian thing since the apostle Paul.
