A vitally important defence of men and masculinity. Nancy Pearcey has said that this has been her most controversial book to date. That is telling. To simply affirm the importance of men and masculinity is controversial? Sadly, in the West today, it most certainly is. [...]

    C. S. Lewis, cancer and grief. In many areas of life, the ideal is to combine the theoretical with the practical. This is true when it comes to thinking about, writing about, and speaking about the issues of pain, suffering and evil -- especially from [...]

God sustains us in the most difficult of times. Some 55 hours ago, my wonderful wife was promoted to heavenly glory after much suffering and pain. Her 18-month battle with cancer finally came to an end. I and others are supremely glad that she is [...]

Yes, we should be engaging with our culture. All Christians know about the Great Commission and most know who Charles Colson was. As to the former, it of course involves the command given by Jesus for His followers to go into all the world to [...]

Why we must soundly reject the racist Voice. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and the Left are having real trouble in getting Australians to support their divisive and racist “Voice” referendum. Public support for it is dropping, and Labor is in a quandary as to how [...]

Clear thinking on law and morality. As I have often said, I am not a libertarian, although two years of Covid lockdown madness and health fascism have certainly moved me a bit further along in that direction! But I still believe there is a place [...]

There is no limit as to whom we can pray for. All Christians pray – or should pray – and that includes praying for others. The Bible speaks often about prayer, as does the Apostle Paul, including asking for prayer for himself and his ministry. [...]

The pros seem to be outweighed by the cons of the welfare state. Because we live in a fallen world, we will always have major social and economic problems. So we will always have the poor. And that is just what Jesus said: “The poor [...]

Some incisive and comforting thoughts from Keller. New York pastor Tim Keller died recently following a lengthy battle with cancer. He not only knew about suffering in a very personal way, but as a minister of the Gospel, he dealt with countless individuals who struggled [...]

We have known for decades now which family structure is best for children. Who said this back in June 2008? “We know that more than half of all black children live in single-parent households, a number that has doubled — doubled — since we were [...]

Many of the folks pushing things like transhumanism, AI, posthumanism and so on have often made clear the religious nature of their endeavours. They see all this as a new religion offering full and final salvation -- but of a radically different sort than traditional [...]

One day, believers will be assessed on what they did. Something Christians do not speak much about is the idea of receiving rewards one day for their faithful service. It might be a mark of humility perhaps not to think about that too much. After [...]

Forgetting and forsaking God has serious repercussions. Western history is in large part the story of God and His people at work. Yet most Westerners today deliberately seek to shove God, Jesus, Scripture and Christianity out of their minds and lives. The West is doing [...]

Christians can be good dual citizens. Believers are citizens of two different worlds: our own, and the heavenly. The Christian of course loves and longs for this eternal home. But how do we relate to our current home? Is there a place for love of [...]

The West has a schizoid attitude toward children. Though ostensibly treasured, childhood is under attack. It was Dietrich Bonhoeffer who is purported to have said: “The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children.” Whether this is [...]

It is often said that the Christian needs to be on guard against the temptations of the three Gs: Gold, Girls and Glory. All three areas can easily trip up a believer and render him ineffective for kingdom service – and worse. Another similar way [...]

An unchanging gospel in a changing world. Some things change in life. Some things do not change. Knowing which is which is vital. As to the former, people change. Cultures change. Societies change. But as to the latter, God does not change. The Christian gospel [...]

No Christian life is insignificant in the role-play of the divine drama. It may be hard for many Christians to believe that what seems to be a pretty mundane and routine life (going to work, feeding the kids, mowing the lawn, and so on) is [...]

Children need their parents, not Big Government acting as their 'village'. One thing that is now crystal clear is that the radicals and militants are fully and ferociously targeting our children. No wonder we hear so much today about grooming and the like: it is [...]

A Review of The Economics of the Parables by Robert Sirico. There are plenty of folks who want to enlist Jesus for their socialist and radical left political agendas. There want to convince us that Jesus was a Marxist and a social justice warrior. They are [...]
