Paris Olympics Blasphemy of Jesus: Out of Evil God is Bringing Good

30 July 2024

3.7 MINS

The media have been in a feeding frenzy over parts of the controversial Opening Ceremony for the Paris Olympics, while at least one major sponsor has pulled their support – C Spire, the 6th largest wireless provider to the USA, citing a scene it said made a “mockery” of Jesus’ Last Supper.

Paris Was Laughing at Jesus, Until Christians Started Boycotting the Olympics – Off the Kirb Ministries

Here, Joe Kirby gives a Christian reaction to what happened in France. He graciously builds on the platform of the blasphemy to create a call for Christian action:

Today is not a day to be silent. Today is not a day to be a doormat!

He is so right! This week, we all have a brilliant platform to share the genuine love of the Lord Jesus Christ with so many whom perhaps we could not normally engage.

Did you watch the opening ceremony? What was the standout for you? So, you didn’t see the drag queen depiction of Jesus’ last supper with his disciples? Etc, etc.

We Asked Paris Their Thoughts on the Olympics Mocking Jesus Living Waters

The Bible tells us that one of the signs of the last days would be that world will give themselves to the sin of lust and mock the Christian faith. “Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires” (2 Peter 3: 3).

Whenever we hear the word blasphemy, we think of someone desecrating the Lord’s name… and last night we saw a desecration, a blasphemy if you will, of the Last Supper. “Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?” (James 2:7)

Most whom the Living Waters team spoke with, could not see there was anything wrong with the blasphemy of Jesus’ Passion. It is as if we have all become desensitised.

However, you could tell that when they were questioned further, they could never imagine what would have happened if the Islamic faith had been lampooned.

Paris Hosts SATANIC Olympic Opening Ceremony With Pale Horse, GETS ROASTED Timcast IRL

Here, Tim Pool calls out the brilliantly choreographed event designed for the whole planet to enjoy and celebrate. But:

By replacing Jesus and the disciples with men in drag. There are 2.4 billion Christians on earth and apparently the Olympics wanted to declare loudly to all of them, right at the gate: not welcome!

I thought it couldn’t get worse; they put a pale horse, straight out of the book of Revelation, quite literally the horse of death from Revelations on the River Seine. (Revelation 6:8)

Yes, a floodlit horse galloping up the river is a spectacular feat of engineering, but what is being celebrated here? The engineering genius? Perhaps.

But to me, what is much more sinister is the subliminal celebration of death. What community, what nation, would ever celebrate death other than the children of death, Satan, and the Devil (John 10:10)?

But Jesus comes that we might have life and have it abundantly:

I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. (John 10: 11)

Then, further on in the Timcast presentation, Hannah Claire chimes in:

Only in the West do we look at our culture and say, let’s completely destroy it; let’s take it and flay it!

With Joe Kirby, from Off the Kirb Ministries, now is the time not to stay quiet, in the pose of a submissive sheep led to the sheerer. Now is the time to take a stand and respectfully, graciously, but firmly say, this is not OK.

Chastisement Falls Upon Paris After Olympic Opening Ceremonies

Here, a Catholic priest reflects on the lights going out all over Paris, except for the floodlit Basilique du Sacré-Cœur in Montmartre, set upon a hill for all to see.

He asks: is this God’s rebuttal of the Olympic Opening Ceremony? He does not claim it is. But, let’s say, it most certainly is a picture of the depths to which Paris and the Olympic organisers have sunk.

Let’s also reflect on what our Lord thinks of all this. I am sure His heart will be broken, not for Himself, but for us. Broken at the depravity that has swept most of the West.

For as long as I can remember, the Olympics have been an opportunity for great numbers of Christians from all over the globe to hit the streets and stadia with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Let’s pray that this year, there will be so much fruit that our nets will need supernatural support to prevent them breaking (John 21: 10-11)!

Love-France-Christian-Media-Press-Release contains details of many of the evangelistic and prayer initiatives around the Paris Olympics. Let’s join with them in prayer for a mighty harvest.

From July 28 to August 4, Christian artists and volunteers from France, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the United States will gather to inspire people in several churches and public squares in Paris and its surrounding areas.

France 1 Million’s vision is to gift a million prayers from the worldwide Church, for France in this significant year. A million prayers were mobilised for the Tokyo Games back in 2021 and the impact of this legacy continues across Japan. We are inviting you now to join us as we pray for France; the safety and success of the Games, for the Church and for the many outreaches taking place through the Summer.

Yes, these are certainly most exciting times. Who would have thought we would live to see this day, and be called into God’s army of faithful believers?

Ummm…. Your reader base is already linked in to your site…
    You’re preaching to the converted…
How about writing stuff that less condemnary (is there such a word???) and angry to take a leaf out of Jesus’ book…
He didn’t go to war… he spoke grace, forgiveness, healing etc…to the lost and “sinners”…
While it’s absolutely necessary to stand up to the “other” side, perhaps they’ll be a little more circumspect if you didn’t “preach” and in the process lock out those who need to hear about Jesus’ healing love…
We should show practical grace instead of throwing the “book” at them… just.. y’know… saying…

Richard, thank you for reading my piece and for your comment today.
I am sorry that you felt I sounded ‘preachy’ and ‘throwing the book’. While probably most who might see this post are converted, in my conversations about the opening ceremony with Christians, quite a number ‘could not really see that there was any blasphemy here’. I would contend that there are Christians who have become so used to this that they no longer ‘see it’. Hence the angle I took.
However, you have an excellent point and I will try to watch my tone in future.

Great article using four diferent video voices to make the point. Interestingly Tim Poole is not a Christian but even he is appalled at the evil. His words ring more than true. “By replacing Jesus and the disciples with men in drag. There are 2.4 billion Christians on earth and apparently the Olympics wanted to declare loudly to all of them, right at the gate: not welcome! I thought it couldn’t get worse; they put a pale horse, straight out of the book of Revelation, quite literally the horse of death from Revelations on the River Seine.” (Revelation 6:8)

Will be long remembered as the Satanic Olympics. What attack on Christianity are they planning for the next Olympics ( Los Angeles ) ? Don’t be silent–protest loudly ! Been to Paris three times . Will never go again even if I were offered a free ticket and all expenses paid. Over-rated, VERY dangerous country ! Go there if you want to be raped, robbed and stabbed.

Countess, yes France is in a perilous state I agree. I was there in May and got robbed. However, it is also a most beautiful country and so are many of its people. Did you see the huge Christian demonstration in the city of Paris after the Satanic Olympics opened?

Actually, Jim, that video of a huge crowd worshipping in Paris has been around for months. Nevertheless, in a city which prides itself for being secular, it was a miraculous sight.

As for Paris being dangerous, when we were there 5 years ago I got a shock when there were a few crack paramilitary troops patrolling the airport, as well as Versailles when we did our tour of the palace, as well as a notice at the security check-in there with instructions on what to do in the case of a terrorist attack.

There were also the signs everywhere warning about pickpockets. Thankfully, our tour director told us the kinds of distractions they employ, and I only came across one in the Gare du Nord waiting for the train to Amsterdam, and I walked straight through her!

However, I believe we need to differentiate between the opening ceremony and the Games themselves. It simply is not fair to the 10,000 athletes (many of them Christians), coaches and staff, and officials. Those athletes and their coaching staff give blood, sweat and tears for years to earn this opportunity, and I’m sure many of them found the opening as offensive as we do.

One positive I have seen is the huge number of non-Christians, both those with a public voice, as well as in conversations I’ve had with non-Christians who thought it was insulting to Christians. And that includes my Muslim fruit shop owner.

As Christians we need to be using these as opportunities to share the Gospel wherever it’s possible to do so. The blasphemy has opened so many doors.

And that will always be the case when Satan overreaches. And remember that, just with the afflictions of the likes of Joseph and Job, the artistic director of the ceremony, while he certainly meant it for evil, in spite of his protestations and false apologies, God meant it for good!

Kim, thank you for this. Sorry i did not do a fact check re the Paris march, thnaks for keeping me on my toes. Yes your call to respect the work of the majority to make the games a success must never be forgotten, thank you. I too have had opportunity for conversations I never would have had before.
