The Madness of Victoria’s Games Roundabout – Commonwealth Games Out, Gay Games In
Months after former Victorian Premier Dan Andrews sensationally forfeited the 2026 Commonwealth Games, citing cost blowout, making Victoria an international laughingstock, his replacement, Jacinta Allan, is bidding for Victoria to host the 2030 Gay Games.
Baffling
Australian Christian Lobby’s (ACL) Victorian Director, Jasmine Yuen, said,
“Victorians are already doing it tough dealing with the increasing cost of living and high interest rates, plus forking out for extra taxes resulting from the government’s Covid lockdown debt.
“If the State couldn’t afford the Commonwealth Games, how can they now afford the Gay Games?
“What Victorians expect of their government is for them to work on solving the high tax rate, high energy cost and high crime rate for a start. This is uppermost in the agenda for families, not for their State to be hosting a Gay Games.”
The ACL urges the Allan Government to realign its priorities, abandon the plan to host the Gay Games and put the needs of families first.
What is the Point?
Commentator James Macpherson observes:
“Wait. Why do we even need a Gay Games?
Didn’t we just have the Olympics? I wasn’t aware they were only for heterosexuals.
Actually, now that I think about it, I seem to remember a couple of boxers with male chromosomes belting the women around the ring. Was that not inclusive enough?”

Starmer’s reign was characterised by periods of unrest and violence, massive scandals and a two-tiered justice system that targeted Brits while giving special treatment to Muslim immigrants. The Rape Gang Report alleges Starmer allowed 13,000 Muslim rapists go with letters of warning, while Brits who spoke up against the injustice were penalised.

I love James Macpherson’s sarcastic comment. What is wrong with Victorian voters that they can’t get rid of these dreadful politicians of every persuasion? Is it something in the water or air which has made Victorian politicians so crazy and irresponsible ? What a disgusting crew ! What a disgusting State in my opinion !
Contessa, The problem is Not the voters, the problem is the way the preferential votes are counted. They filter down as one preferential vote counting as an actual vote when each candidate is eliminated. ACL produced a clear explanation of how the preferential voting system works. In the last Vic election the Labor party only got around 37% of the primary vote, but they won the election on preferential votes.
