The South Australian Live Births Bill: Momentum is Building

Momentum is building for the Live Births Bill in South Australia.

Last Wednesday, we launched a new animation video explaining the process of feticide.

This video has already reached over 50,000 Australians and has been inundated with comments from Australians saying that this video has opened their eyes.

feticide abortion

Every day last week we have held community actions in marginal seats, attracting between 30-50 volunteers each day!

We have letterboxed over 20,000 homes with our leaflet drawing attention to the tragic plight of 45 healthy SA babies killed after viability and up until birth in the first 18 months of the Termination of Pregnancy Act.

We also held an online town hall where we answered questions on the bill, and every day we have had our campaign truck driving through the streets of Adelaide raising awareness about the plight of the 45.

Most South Australians have no idea that babies are killed after viability and the brutal method by which it occurs. It is our job to wake them up so that every Australian knows the truth.

Rally for Life

On Tuesday 15 October, 5.30-6.30pm, we are hosting a Rally for Life on the steps of the SA parliament and we need everyone to come.

If you are from South Australia, register using this link, and if you’re not from South Australia, please spread the word to your friends in our state!

We are also asking South Australians to sign the voter pledge and to volunteer at daily community actions via the campaign WhatsApp group. Thank-you to everyone who is supporting and donating to this campaign, all your donations are being used to spread the word to every South Australian and to lobby MPs who will be voting on this Bill.

Last week I also shared the heartbreaking, yet extraordinarily hopeful story of Prue and Romi.

Prue is a beautiful young mum who was offered an abortion at 35 weeks because of a diagnosis of dwarfism. Prue refused and shared her story with me about raising Romi and the ongoing trauma she carries because of that offer of abortion. Prue’s story has touched thousands this week, and I’ve even fielded calls from journalists saying it opened their eyes to the reality of abortion up to birth in Australia.

Thank you for your ongoing support and encouragement. This is a massive time as we begin to turn the tide on abortion up to birth, and I’m tremendously grateful to have all of you with me on this journey.
