Truths of Christ Which Save and Restore

Truths of Christ Which Save and Restore: Day 4

4 October 2025

2.8 MINS

Intention

To pray for a restoration of Christian truth in our land to save individuals and renew society.

Scripture

“If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

– Psalm 11:3

Reflection

Christianity is the foundation of much that we cherish in the modern world. As historian Tom Holland has observed, our ideas of justice, mercy, love, and human rights did not spring from idol worship or pagan empires. Rather, they came through the revelation given to Israel and were fulfilled and expanded by Christ and his Church.

Extraordinary cultural treasures grew from this biblical soil. The plays of Shakespeare, the poetry of Milton, and the novels of Austen all flowed from Christian vision. The scientific insights of Newton and Faraday were born from belief in a rational creator. Wilberforce’s tireless battle to abolish slavery and Churchill’s courage in the face of tyranny both stand as examples of faith shaping history.

Yet these truths are now under attack across the West. Many seek to erase Christianity from public life, naively imagining that a secular utopia will emerge. Others, including radical ideologues or proponents of alternative religions, openly oppose the very values Christianity gave them.

However, history shows that cutting ourselves off from Christ is to sever the root of freedom, dignity, and justice itself.

What we need is not retreat, but restoration. We must pray for a revival of faith, courage in public witness, and a recovery of Christian influence in our culture and politics.

The world still requires the truths of Christ, truths that alone bring life, hope, and a future.

Prayer

Almighty God,

We come before you with thankful hearts, for you are the foundation of truth and the giver of every good gift. Through Christ, you have revealed justice, mercy, and love, and by his cross, you have brought salvation to the world. We praise you that the gospel has shaped nations, inspired acts of courage, and lifted the weak and oppressed.

Lord, we confess that our society has turned from your ways. Many have tried to build on shifting sands, rejecting the very truths that once gave us freedom, dignity, and hope. Forgive us, O God, for neglecting your word and failing to live boldly for Christ in public and private life.

Father, restore what has been broken. Revive faith in this land. Raise up men and women filled with courage and conviction to bear witness to your Son. Let your Spirit awaken churches, renew families, and shape leaders who walk in righteousness.

We pray that your truth will not only save individuals but also renew our culture and guide our future. May the light of Christ shine again in our homes, schools, parliaments, and marketplaces.

We ask this in Jesus’ mighty name,

Amen.

Do you have the right to pray freely ? Under NSW Legislation the answer is no you are only permitted to pray as the Government dictates .

See here ,” do people of faith in NSW have the freedom to pray under the … “you tube.
They debate Legislation under Catholic Premier Minns administration .

And I need to add here that in fact Shakespeare preempted the concept of romantic love that is love which enjoys sex for pleasure not as God demands only for procreation, which has made normal heterosexual relations Anominations in the eyes of the Lord .
It became normalised by the Romantic era of English literature. in my opinion allegedly
Since then normal families young lovers, etc have been Abominations .Committing abominable acts as if virtuous family values and having no idea .. Because no one wants to scare people away from their registered business
and losing their donors . Allegedly .imo At best ,at wirst ,something far more sinister one could deduce perhaps. if cynical .
Love of money is the root of all evil The Bible tells us .

You need to understand that in shakespearian English society the theatre wasn’t a bit posh It was for the peasants They were usually inebriated and very vulgar in those days Not a bit as they would lead one to believe but much more truthfully as Twain described them still even later but most likely worse .
And ni females were allowed as actresses All of the actors were men Even Juliet .
Which was a comedy really ,a dramatic almost farcical comedy .
in my opinion .Course Julie would have been a very pretty young boy preferably but you know they just had to use whoever was available. They normalised cross dressing in other words as Art .

btw ,at the time biblically cross dressing esp of a female in male attire was punishable by death, burning at the stake, so the theatre literally mocked the Bible very very blatantly. Very .

Yes, prayer for every church and their leaders. But also, prayer for Albanese and co, and those who are in opposition to Christianity.

I have heard that members of a certain religion are asking the government for number of things to be in place, one being that Islam’s history be taught in the schools. Also they are bringing in an “islamophobia” hotline.

We are running out of time. If Albanese grants them what they wish, if it gets through, anything critical of islam will be outlawed (including anything criticising that same law, to overturn it). And the bible will likely be the next thing to be outlawed.

Also, it’s pretty much already against the law in NSW to pray for a gay person in order to supress or change their sexual orientation. And not only gay people, but pedophiles (and before long, anything critical of pedophilia might be unlawful, as this antidiscrimination prayer law protects them).
And there is nothing to say in that law that one is allowed to pray silently or in their own home in order to supress or change those sexual orientations. It seems that they have made the law able to reach anyone praying in that way no matter where. All someone has to do is ask if someone has done so, and dob them in. Then we will see what the law was designed for.

The powers behind the idea for this law, won’t stop at having banned prayers that “discriminate” against sexual orientations. They are also against prayers for the conversion of muslims, other religions, and also atheists. They are against all prayer in line with God’s will.

This is my problem: I cannot handle what has come at me in times past when I have prayed into certain things, and this is a big one. I cannot afford to “interfere” with what seems to be taking over australia.

Sure, I could just brave it, and go to war. But there are dark places (oppression, torment, suicidal thoughts and feelings, intense condemnation, t
and at those times I wonder if I’m even saved, if I’m going to make it in the end) I’ve gotten into in the past that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy, and do not wish to go back to (and I don’t at. But if the church at large is fighting the battle, then God will work, and God doesn’t need me in order for this country to not go down the toilet. So long as the church sees what’s coming, and is praying as led. And I can pray as led, but will tread carefully.

But, greater is He that is living in me, than he that is in the world. God is far far bigger than any enemy we may face.
