Day 8: The Voice of Mercy and Redemption
Intention
To be amazed at how the blood of Jesus speaks for mercy and guarantees our redemption.
Scripture
“You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel.”
– Hebrews 12:24
Reflection
It was just another day at a university campus for Charle Kirk on Wednesday 10 September, 2025. He had been going to university campuses for over a decade, engaging in debate about political, Christian values and LIFE issues with university students, so that day was not unusual.
At 12:09 pm, he took the stage and started throwing out free hats to the 3,000-strong crowd. At 12:11 pm on that hot fall day he began speaking with the crowd. At 12:23 pm a shot fired and Charlie Kirk fell mortally wounded by an assassin’s bullet.
Charlie Kirk was a bold and uncompromising voice in the modern pro-life movement. Known for his fearless activism and unwavering moral convictions, Kirk spent decades advocating for the unborn while working to ensure women facing unplanned pregnancies were not left to navigate their choices alone.
At the heart of Kirk’s worldview was the conviction that life begins at conception. He consistently framed abortion as a moral and human rights issue, calling the termination of a pregnancy a grave wrong. He believed that every life mattered and that every woman deserved tangible support, guidance, and a loving community.
My wife and I have often said publicly, “If we could give our life to end abortion we would do so.” Charle did give his life for the cause of LIFE. I type these words with tears. Watch this powerful video called “Charlie Kirk’s Most Powerful Defense for Preborn Children”.
Recently, I wrote the following in an article inspired by Charlie’s martyrdom called, “Charlie Kirk — A Man’s Blood is His Most Eloquent Speech”:
“Charlie Kirk’s blood is still speaking to us today as we remember his cruel assassination over four months ago.
In the Bible, blood is holy because it represents life given by God. God declares, “The life of the flesh is in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11).
The first-time blood is said to speak is in the account of Cain and Abel. After Cain murdered his brother, God said, “Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground” (Genesis 4:10). Abel’s innocent blood spoke a cry for justice, revealing that God hears the testimony of shed blood.
Throughout the Old Testament, blood was required for atonement because sin brings death, and life must be given for life. These sacrifices pointed to Jesus Christ. In the New Testament, Scripture says that the blood of Jesus “speaks a better word than the blood of Abel” (Hebrews 12:24).
Abel’s blood cried for judgment; Christ’s blood cries out for mercy, forgiveness, and reconciliation (redemption).
Blood is holy because it carries life — and through Jesus, it now speaks salvation.”
Soli Deo Gloria!

Prayer
Father in heaven, thank you for the blood of your Son. Father, thank you for the voice of mercy and redemption in your Son’s blood.
Teach me the eternal mystery of the Lamb of God whose death was planned before the foundation of the world. Help me, never forget. And Father, one more thing. Please end abortion in Australia in Jesus’ name!

Nora didn't expect to find joy in palliative care. Five years on, she says sitting with the dying has given her the greatest gift of all: learning how to truly live.

I live with the horror of my brother being a late-term backyard abortion. I think of him a lot. I miss him even after all these years. I wanted 4 children but never experienced the miracle of childbirth due to severe eclampsia, so, I never feel like a real mother. I watch in fascination ” The Midwife ” TV show as I had premature Caesareans. I was warned another pregnancy would mean death. The world has lost a great man (Charlie Kirk ), intelligent and a great debater. I support Dr. Joanna Howe in her fight to save babies born alive in hospitals after abortions , but, who are left to die. I agree with Charlie that Life begins at conception and that abortion is murder.
Thank you Warwick (and Alison) such wonderful words. Takes me right back to the 70s and SPUC. And isn’t it amazing that in the 70s we had Roe v Wade, but Trump has overturned that!
We spent 50 years praying and God answered our prayers.
The great thing is that Charlie Kirk was very pro-life, but towards the end of his life he started to question his devotion to Zionism. He started publicly questioning his support of Israel. He started to expose the pressure he was under from his Zionist donors.
So yes, let’s celebrate Charlie Kirk, but let’s also get it out there he was completely doing a 360 on Israel before his death.
Can’t we just reflect on the wonderful life and ministry of Charlie Kirk and be reflectively grateful?
Without the abominable influence of the Candace and Tucker comments trying to taint his legacy and commitment to Israel?
Get a grip. It’s not about you!!!
Thanks Warwick and Alison for your continued commitment to life and many other aspects of our walk with our Lord and Saviour, spreading the good news of His work at the cross.
