“Born Alive Left to Die”: Young Conservatives for Christ Lead Pro-Life Pushback with August Webinar

Young Conservatives for Christ (YCFC) is hosting ACL’s Born Alive Left to Die documentary in a 25 August webinar.

The 7:30 p.m. event, which will be hosted online, brings together some of Australia’s brightest and youngest pro-life voices.

Speakers for the night include Life Choice Australia’s Michelle Ryan, Bird Flip’s Pieta Winkels, and Right to Life NSW spokeswoman Haylea Jaye.

Announcing the night on Instagram, YCFC said, “It will be an important time to see the reality of abortion in Australia.”

This also gives Christians an opportunity to “pray together and hear from pro-lifers who are making practical efforts to wake the public up, change the culture, and the law.”

Faith and Politics

At the heart of YCFC is a passion for faith, family, freedom and life.

Founded in 2023, their manifesto is driven by a focus on “getting young Christians involved in the political process.”

Youth-led, their aim is to “partner with existing Christian organisations in the political sphere.”

Faith, they state, “is integral to a flourishing society.”

Specifically, Christianity, whose values, YCFC argue, “have been crucial in the development of the West and are necessary for a prospering nation.”

Christ-centred, they’re also firmly committed to Matthew 19:4-6’s man-for-woman, woman-for-man, biblical view of marriage and binary biology.

Defending the Unborn

Another significant feature is the organisation’s counter-cultural defiance in defence of the unborn.

“We believe in the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death,” their website declares.

Key to their dissent is Jeremiah 1:5, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,” from which YCFC affirmed:

“We believe this is Biblically founded and this belief is reinforced since first-century teachings of the Church. Thus, we will strive to protect human life at all stages.”

YCFC’s National Coordinator John Martin told The Daily Declaration,

“We’re excited to run this webinar as a call to action, so that people are not just informed about the issues, but can take a stand against abortion.”

“Many of the speakers,” Martin explained, “are pioneering, energetic young women that are helping others by exposing the agenda behind the abortion industry.”

The webinar is a free, one-off, closed Zoom event, so registration is essential, he explained.

Following the ACL documentary, Martin said, there will be three speakers, and time allocated for a Q and A.

Prayer, Fasting and the Born Alive Campaign

YCFC’s pro-life initiative inadvertently ties in well with the Canberra Declaration’s current prayer and fasting for babies born alive after an abortion in 2026.

The 10 Days of Prayer and Fasting intercession runs from 10-19 August.

Prayer points for the current campaign are:

  1. The Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill 2026 to pass federal parliament. (Micah 6:7–8)
  2. A change of hearts and minds towards life across the nation. (Psalm 139:13–16)
  3. Many to see the Baby Booties Display on Parliament House’s lawns and many churches to be inspired to show the Born Alive Left to Die film. (Hebrews 4:16)

There are 90,000 abortions in Australia every year. But only 40 adoptions.

Consequently, the Canberra Declaration is urging people to “prayerfully consider hosting a screening of this powerful film in your church or local/home/prayer group, and help turn the tide on the greatest moral crisis Australia faces.”

The Young Conservatives for Christ webinar at 7:30 pm on 25 August does just that.

As Swiss theologian Karl Barth once wrote,

“No pretext can alter the fact that those who participate in [aborting an unborn child] are engaged in the killing of human life.”
