Warwick Marsh Named Inaugural Australian Christian Man of the Year
FamilyVoice Australia and the National Alliance of Christian Leaders together are truly delighted to announce Warwick Marsh is the winner of the inaugural Australian Christian Man of the Year Award.
“For more than three decades, Warwick Marsh has raised a voice for the irreplaceable importance of fatherhood, and he is a most worthy recipient of this honour,” said NACL and FamilyVoice spokesman David d’Lima.
“Warwick was the outstanding candidate among those nominated for this important award.”
From Family Bus to National Ministry

Inaugural Australian Christian Man of the Year Warwick Marsh.
In 1990, Warwick Marsh left the building industry and took his young family on the road, touring Aboriginal communities, country towns, schools, prisons and churches in a converted bus. Their family band performed original music grounded in faith, family and hope. A decade of touring gave Warwick a firsthand view of what fatherlessness does to a community — a view that hardened into a mission.
He and his wife Alison founded Australian Heart Ministries and the Fatherhood Foundation, now known as Dads4Kids. Its first act was a set of Father’s Day television community service announcements, filmed with the help of his son Nathaniel, that aired free across Australian TV networks. Decades later, those announcements still run, and the Dads4Kids’ weekly fatherhood newsletter remains the longest-running publication of its kind in the world.
The organisation has since developed the Good to Great fathering course, the Courageous online course, and Inside-Out, a fathering program delivered within Australian prisons. In February 2003, Warwick convened the Fatherhood Forum at Parliament House, producing the 12-Point Plan on fatherlessness, endorsed by more than twenty faith-based and secular organisations.
Standing Firm When Conviction Came at a Cost
In 2008, the ALP federal government appointed Warwick as Men’s Health Ambassador, but sacked him days after he refused to repudiate research he’d co-authored linking family breakdown and same-sex relationships with poorer outcomes for children. Refusing to recant, Warwick insisted that every child has the right to relate with a mother and a father.
In 2010, Warwick helped draft the Canberra Declaration with the support of key Indigenous Christian elders.
In 2011, he helped establish the National Day of Prayer and Fasting, which he coordinated for a decade. In 2019, the Canberra Declaration network launched The Daily Declaration, now Australia’s largest Christian news site, where Warwick serves as Editor-in-Chief.
Warwick has co-authored four books, including Great Southland Revival and Jesus: The Centre of It All, along with his semi-autobiographical book Break Through. Married to Alison since 1975, Warwick is the father of five and grandfather of ten.
Few Australians have converted personal conviction into lasting public institutions as consistently, or defended that conviction at as high a cost, as Warwick Marsh.

Warwick Marsh you are truly a ‘living legend.’ Every day I read the Daily Declaration and thank God for its content and its existence. I bet you and Alison are highly embarrassed by the accolades but they are richly deserved.
Beautiful!
Well done Warwick and Allison. Richly deserved
Congratulations Dad!
1000% deserved … so much love to Warwick and Alison from the CD prayer family!!
Wonderful. Good to see a God honouring man honoured!
Thank you to Family Voice Australia and the National Alliance for Christian Leaders for the Australian Christian Man of the Year Award.
It means a lot to me and those who work with me and support me. They make me look better than I am. All our donors and supporters over 36 years of full time ministry in Australia and around the world have helped with their prayers and donations. Where would I be without them.
Their sacrifice has enabled me to do the things i have done and to be be who I am today.
I was interviewed by Neil Johnson on Vision Radio yesterday morning. Thank God too for Vision radio. I thank my Family. My 5 Children and my 11 grand children. Yes one more born last night. (Although early mum and baby are well.)
The truth of the matter is my wife, Alison Marsh, should receive the award because I would be nothing without her.
I am greatly humbled by the Australian Christian Man of the Year Award and very thankful.
The words of the Andrea Crouch song “To God be the Gory,” come to mind.
“How can I say thanks
For the things You have done for me?
Things so undeserved
Yet You gave to prove Your love for me;
The voices of a million angels
Could not express my gratitude
All that I am and ever hope to be
I owe it all to Thee
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me;
To God be the glory
For the things He has done
And if I gain any praise
Let it go to Calvary”

I give all the glory to Jesus Christ my Saviour. Soli Deo Gloria.
Much Love
Warwick Marsh
What a brilliant Warwick. How well deserved. May God continue to guide you and Alison and the team in the amazing work of Canberra Declaration, as well as all the other areas you have contributed to such as ‘Dads for Kids.’ We who are on Canberra Declaration and all who read Daily Declaration are so blessed to have a way to pray together to see God’s kingdom come into Australia in a great way, with goals of more prayer for Australia and Israel, for the unsaved, for more righteous Govt, protection of the innocent unborn, the family unit, children and teens, church outreach and ministry, compassion, forgiveness of sin, and love for one another. The Love of God is behind the prayers of the leadership, shown also in the prayers of the Intercessors, and speakers. May God bless the work of your hands as promised and much fruit comesforth.
Congratulations Warwick and Alison. So well deserved.
