Melbourne Rally to Oppose ‘Free’ Abortion Push on 10 November

2.5 MINS

On Tuesday, 10 November, beginning at 6 pm, a public rally will be held outside Victoria’s Parliament House to show support for the unborn.

Victoria has some of the world’s most extreme abortion laws. Abortion is available right up to birth, and for virtually any reason.

Yet despite these abhorrent laws, Victorian Premier Ben Carroll announced on 15 October that if re-elected, Labor would force taxpayers to foot the entire bill for abortions up to 16 weeks’ gestation.

Astonishingly, Opposition Leader Jess Wilson decided to match this appalling idea hours later.

This promotion of evil cannot go unanswered, and on 10 November, this public event will ensure that it won’t. Watch as event organiser Professor Joanna Howe invites you to this rally in the short video below.

Shameless Politics

Celebrating the deaths of innocent babies as ‘healthcare’, using people’s hard-earned tax dollars to pay for them, and promoting ‘free’ abortions in an attempt to win votes is about as evil as it gets.

As Daily Declaration author and News24 presenter James Macpherson said:

“The Victorian Labor government is not doing this because it cares about women. To be clear, they steadfastly refuse to even say what a woman is.

“They certainly can’t be accused of caring about the unborn.

“There’s now no doubt… that the Victorian Labor government will do absolutely anything if it helps them cling to power.”

Every Life Matters

Writing recently about this ‘free’ abortion proposal, Melbourne Catholic Archbishop Peter Comensoli asked:

“Do we hold in our mind and heart the stark reality of what is occurring when human lives are deliberately ended?

“Each person is unique and unrepeatable; made in the image and likeness of God, with inherent dignity and infinite worth that is never lost. Sadly, this is too often ignored.”

Tuesday’s rally is an opportunity to stand publicly for both mothers and their unborn children and demand that these evil promises using taxpayer money to fund death must be abolished.

Will you help spread the word? It can be as simple as these three steps.

1. Forward this article. Share the invitation with your friends, family, churches and prayer groups.

2. Invite someone personally. Simply ask them, “Would you come with me?” Consider travelling together, which will also give you an opportunity to pray with others during the trip to the CBD.

3. Share the poster. You will find a downloadable poster at the bottom of this article. Share it through your networks or print it for your church’s noticeboard.

Please pray for this important rally and attend if you can. We must speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

When ignored or left unopposed, evil grows worse. With both major parties backing this proposal, it is vital that opposition to it is heard.

Romans 12:21 commands us, “Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.”

This rally on 10 November gives us a powerful way of living out that command. Praying for this event — whether you are or are not able to make it — is another practical way to overcome evil with good.

INVITE: Public Rally to Oppose ‘Free’ Abortion

  • WHERE: On the steps of Parliament House, Spring Street, Melbourne CBD
  • WHEN: Tuesday, 10 November 2026
  • TIME: 6 – 7 pm
  • REGISTRATION: Not required — this is a public event

As Archbishop Comensoli has reminded us, every person is made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26–27) — and that’s why every life matters.

This is our chance to say: every life matters, because every person is made in the image of God.

Human death must never be used for vain political gain.

Yours for the life and dignity of every person,

Samuel Hartwich & Warwick Marsh
