21 Days of Hope for the Unborn – Day 18: Transfiguring Light
Then Jesus’ appearance was dramatically altered.
A radiant light as bright as the sun poured from His face.
And His clothing became luminescent dazzling like lightning.
He was transfigured before their very eyes.
~ Matthew 17:2 (TPT)
The three closest to Him witnessed Jesus on the mount, transfigured before their eyes.
They saw Him as He truly is, radiant, dazzling!
The transfiguration of Jesus was highly significant during His life whilst on earth,
and is also highly significant for us today.
It revealed the hidden divinity of Christ
before His death, resurrection, and ascension.
Heaven met earth on the mount as Jesus was transfigured
(Greek word “meta morpho” — to transform, change),
literally into His heavenly form while on earth.
It was a glimpse of His unseen glory
that was veiled in human form (Hebrews 10:20) —
the three disciples had a glimpse of His heavenly glory.
Light is evident everywhere Heaven meets earth.
We are invited in the scriptures to go through the same transformation
through the freedom given to us by the Holy Spirit.
But we all, with unveiled face,
beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord,
are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory,
just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
~ 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)
As we give ourselves over to this transformational process, we are changed to be like Him.
I beseech you therefore, brethren,
by the mercies of God,
that you present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God,
which is your reasonable service.
And do not be conformed to this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is
that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
~ Romans 12:1-2 (NKJV)If then you were raised with Christ,
seek those things which are above,
where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on things above,
not on things on the earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
When Christ Who is our life appears,
then you also will appear with Him in glory.
~ Colossians 3:1-4 (NKJV)
Our thinking is of the utmost importance,
and we must also present our bodies as a living sacrifice.
This means it costs us something to give reasonable service to God.
It means we can no longer be conformed to the world’s thinking and ways.
We become counter-cultural,
and this type of shining proves the good, perfect will of God.
As we are transformed into the image of our Lord, from glory to glory,
the enemy is no longer dealing with us as fallen sinners,
but transformed victorious saints doing the will of God.
As the Ekklesia of Christ rises up in His glory,
bringing freedom and restoration,
the darkness trembles and flees.
As shining ones, we are to take courage
in rescuing the innocent
who are being led to slaughter through abortion.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the freedom of Your Holy Spirit to renew our minds.
Take all the mindsets and filters that have blocked our thinking
and transform us to think with the mind of Christ that you gave us
Help us to continue to submit to the transformational process.
Enable us to arise as Your ambassadors of reconciliation
for those caught in the destruction of aborting of future generations.
Let the light of Your glorious presence change our world
from darkness to the glorious light of life that You give.
Raise up Your glorious ones, Your people into places of influence.
Father, remove those in authority who are operating in worldly ways
that conform to darkness and partner with evil.
Establish Your Kingdom in our nation.
In Jesus’ powerful and protecting Name, Yeshua, Amen.
Worship:
Holy Communion:
As we partake, remember with thanks that you were bought with the most costly price that Jesus paid for You.
“Or do you not know that your body
is the temple of the Holy Spirit Who is in you,
Whom you have from God,
and you are not your own?
For you were bought at a price;
therefore glorify God in your body
and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
~ 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NKJV)
Acts of Repentance:
Ask what presenting your body as a living sacrifice looks like in your world today.
See yourself shining from glory to glory, bringing glory to Jesus.
Prayer Points:
- Join our prayers with the USA in the battle to overturn Roe v. Wade — There is an abortion case (Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization) presently being considered by the nine US Supreme Court Judges which could overturn the famous abortion case Roe v. Wade (1973) which opened up abortion on demand in the USA for almost 50 years. This has resulted in the loss of life to over 62,000,000 babies in the USA. The verdict of the case is expected to be known in June 2022. If Roe v. Wade (1973) is overturned, or invalidated, it is expected that around half the states in the USA will move to make abortion illegal in their states. It is thought six out of the nine judges now have pro-life values.
- Pray that the Love Adelaide — Walk for Life 2022 on Feb 12th 10am-12pm will grow in momentum from the 5,000 last year — that nothing will hinder the church standing against legalised abortion, adding their strength and support to end the abortion crisis in our nation and beyond. Pray for more volunteers for the walk and for the weather to be favourable. Book Your Free Tickets for the Walk — bring your family and friends!
There will be prayer in Elder Park Rotunda at 6:30pm on 11th February the night before the Walk for Life. - Ask for the Babies Born Alive (Human Rights — Children Born Alive Protection Bill 2021) tabled in the Australian Federal Parliament to have favour, that it be allowed to go for a vote and be passed in this term of government with no more delay — so that in every state and territory in Australia, babies born alive after a failed abortion will receive proper medical care and legal protection.
- That people of South Australia will vote according to Life in the upcoming State Parliament elections. May they no longer support the politicians who voted for aborting viable babies even to full term, blocked vital lifesaving amendments and forbade all prayer and offers of help within 150 m of any place where abortions occur (including all major public hospitals).
- That many women and men will take up the call to be on the frontline in the fight for Life for the Unborn by joining a political party and running for office.
May God Bless you. Thank you for being a part of 21 Days of Hope for the Unborn.
‘And let us not grow weary while doing good,
for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.’
~ Galatians 6:9 (NKJV)
