Day 11: Praise Pray Praise

1 February 2023

3.3 MINS

As we spend 21 Days in Fasting and Prayer for the unborn, it is easy to become heavy-hearted. Let us continue to put on a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness! If we focus on anything besides the beauty of the Lord for too long, we can be taken into captivity to whatever we are focusing on. When we focus on the Lord Jesus and His wonderful salvation, we are set free from circumstances that are demanding our attention, and we become more powerful in our intercession and effectiveness.

“Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!”

They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
~ Acts 16:25-26,31 (NLT)

Let’s praise the Lord wholeheartedly today during our prayer and fasting. He has come and is in us to fulfil Isaiah 61:1-4 (NIV):

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me,
because the
Lord has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.

He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim freedom for the captives
and release from darkness for the prisoners,
to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour
and the day of vengeance of our God,
to comfort all who mourn,
and provide for those who grieve in Zion —
to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendour.

They will rebuild the ancient ruins
and restore the places long devastated;

they will renew the ruined cities
that have been devastated for generations.”

Praise

Prayer

Father, we praise You, Holy Lord, for Your glorious plan of the restoration of all things! Thank You that Jesus came as the fulfilment of the Isaiah 61 prophecy and that each one of us has been included in Your redemptive plan.

Anoint Your people to praise You today and every day. May we have a deeper revelation of Your will to be done for the unborn and pray according to Your will. We ask that Your favour and vengeance be loosed into every situation concerning the unborn of our nation.

Thank You for Your comfort and provision for families that are broken, taken captive and are in darkness. Raise up, rebuild, and restore Australia and her cities to the original blueprint You planned for her. May every generation be blessed and welcomed, their lives protected and highly esteemed, because You created each person. We pray in Your glorious Name, Jesus, Amen.

Prayer Points

  • As we praise today, lean into Jesus’s heart for the unborn and pray what He is praying.
  • We pray for every state and territory of Australia to come together to stand for life! For hearts to be awakened and every Christian to rally to rescue the unborn as the church rises up to “Walk for Life Adelaide” on 11 February and “March for Life” Brisbane — date TBA, Mackay “March for the Babies” October, and for other states to join in and hold rallies or walks in their cities.

These three current Pro-Life Issues before Parliaments:

  • Pray that the Human Rights (Children Born Alive Protection) Bill 2022 be passed speedily in 2023. This Bill will protect babies who are currently, in most states of Australia, being left to die after a failed abortion. This protection for such babies is currently law in New South Wales (2019) and South Australia (2021) as amendments to the state Termination of Pregnancy Acts. This Federal Bill, if passed, will make this legislation National. Pray for protection for the three Federal Senators Alex Antic (Liberal Party), Matthew Canavan (National Party) and Ralph Babet (United Australia Party) who presented this Bill on 30 November 2022.
  • On 28 September 2022, the Federal Senate referred an Inquiry into Universal Access to Reproductive Healthcare (abortion) to the Senate Standing Committee on Community Affairs. This enquiry is all about broadening abortion access and entrenching it into federal law, possibly overriding state laws. Pray that the Lord stops this from occurring.
  • The passing in South Australia of the Statutes Amendment (Loss of Fetus) Amendment Bill 2022. Presented by MLC Sarah Game (One Nation). This bill would acknowledge the loss of an in-utero baby due to a criminal act, such as assault of the mother or dangerous driving — offences in their own right. This Bill is about justice and recognition of a life lost. Sadly abortion is not recognised as a criminal offence, but this bill will for the first time recognise the personhood of the unborn child.

Pray that abortion will not increase in Australia. The ACT Government has announced it will provide free abortions from 2023. There are also calls for taxpayers to fund abortions nationwide, and for nurses to be allowed to give out abortion pills.

Ann,thank you for your passion for the unborn and their mothers . In NSW, I believe Zoe’s Law to criminalise the loss of a baby in utero as a result ofan assault or dangerous driving, came into into effect in November 2021 after a 12 yr battle.

As I consider that time worn idiotic retort of “ well if God is real why doesn’t He – do something!”
He did and He does !
Its just that He doesn’t do what He is told and He doesn’t preform on demand. Unlike the popular contemporary idiom of it it feels good do it but the most mindless is surely…….love is love.
The two things I most wanted are to be able to think and to be able to love. Now to put them into practice. Consistently and with integrity. Only ever possible through His grace.
