Albanese appoints envoy

Albanese Appoints a Special Envoy

3.3 MINS

Multiculturalism will work out just fine – as soon as we get enough special envoys!

How are we meant to feel about the Prime Minister’s announcement that he is appointing a special envoy for anti-Semitism?

It’s obviously good news for Australia’s Jewish community, who have, for nine months, been subjected to daily abuse, threats and intimidation.

The appointment of lawyer Jillian Segal, who will provide advice to the government, is a welcome move.

But let’s be honest. The fact that we need a special envoy, at all, is disgusting.

How did we get to a point where we now need special advisors, in order to keep a law-abiding, peaceful, highly productive section of our community safe?

And the fact it took Anthony Albanese this long to recognise the need is even worse.

It’s been 273 days since a mob gathered on the steps of the Sydney Opera House to chant “Gas the Jews” or “Where are the Jews”, depending on how politically correct your hearing is.

That event was shocking in and of itself.

But what was more shocking was how the government, councils, schools, universities, theatres and others allowed it to escalate.

Anthony Albanese is the fireman who arrives with his hose after the building has been reduced to a pile of ash.

Lollygagging

He told a media conference on Monday:

“We have seen since October 7 last year a significant rise in anti-Semitism in Australia, and that is why the Government has made the decision to appoint a special envoy on anti-Semitism.”

You can accuse this government of many things. What you can never accuse them of, is being on time.

The Prime Minister said the special envoy will advise him. Which begs the question, advise him on what?

On whether or not hate speech laws should actually be used to prosecute hate speech?

On whether or not he should, as leader of the country, speak out unequivocally against anti-Semitism?

How much advice does a leader of the country need, to lead the country?

How many committees will it take until this government knows what it should do?

The answer? Just one more. Always one more.

The Government has been pandering to anti-Semitism for months by letting protestors run riot. It’s only now that those same protestors have turned against the government – and that renegade Senator Payman has betrayed him – that the PM has decided it might be time to provide the Jewish community with protection after all.

Of course, Each Way Albo couldn’t announce a special envoy on anti-Semitism without also announcing that he would soon appoint another special envoy:

Shortly we’ll also be announcing an envoy on Islamophobia as well, playing a similar role, working with that community to promote social cohesion.

Insert massive sigh here!

The Prime Minister couldn’t even announce a special envoy on anti-Semitism without assuring Western Sydney he would also announce a special enjoy on Islamophobia.

Even when it’s the Jews who are being threatened, you can’t make it all about the Jews.

Multiculturalism will work out just fine – as soon as we get enough special envoys.

Simplicity

The Prime Minister lamented the role of social media in poisoning the national discourse, which I thought was interesting. He said:

“The rise of social media has seen people thinking that they can take what are complex issues and convert them into a hundred characters and to make statements that they never would face to face.”

Well, if anyone knows anything about using social media to take what are complex issues and reduce them to simplistic memes… it’s Anthony Albanese and his team.

This is his Energy Minister’s take on the complex issue of nuclear power:

And this is how his Assistant Employment Minister summarised the complex issue of nuclear energy…

But I digress.

Here’s the PM taking the complex issue of religion and worldviews and converting them into a hundred characters on his imagined utopia:

“Australia can be a microcosm of the world. People of Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist and Hindu faiths, all living side by side. Enriched by our diversity. Benefiting from the culture, the language, the food, the dancing, the music, the celebration, of what we have built here in Australia. What’s clear is that we can’t take that for granted.”

Sorry, Prime Minister, but you’re never going to build social cohesion when you think the biggest difference between cultures is the food and the music and the dancing.

Talk about simplifying complex issues.

Let’s base our immigration program on which cuisine we’d like to try at the weekend!

God help us.

The Prime Minister finished his press conference with this rallying of the troops.

“I’m proud to be PM of Australia. We are the greatest country on earth. But we need to reinforce what are our greatest attributes.”

I agree. You might start by insisting that federal and state governments, councils and the public service honour Australia Day.

Maybe Australia, needs a special envoy for Australia!

It also seems time for a special envoy for anti-Christianity.

Mr Albanese didn’t even MENTION Christianity in his list of faiths that he says contribute to this Great Australian Microcosm. Oooops !! How did THAT happen ?

Perhaps its time we Australian Christians held a PEACEFUL protest at the Opera House, or at each State capital city, to get his attention ?

Though admittedly, the mainstream media KNOW there are LOTS of Christians here.

And our COURTS are variously called on to deal with bible-believing Christians who have allegedly said something – anything – that might be deemed to be offensive to someone, requiring The Law to straighten it out. Seriously.

And it’s funny … the Christians AREN’T being found in breach of real law, while the complainants seem to consistently be found to be barking up a very wrong tree.
It’s been said that the process is the punishment. (That possibly needs some unpacking )
And our mainsteam media generally keep these things VERY quiet. Hmmmm.
Perhaps THAT’S why Albo forgot to mention …

After all there are WAYYY more than one million of us Christians here in Australia, and we are inclined to speak the truth. Sometimes. Anytime. All the time.
So it DOES seem that Christians are being heard … but … it seems Mr Albanese isn’t hearing Christians at all !!
Someone – TELL him, please !!!
We could benefit from that Envoy :))

Thanks James. the previous immigration scheme worked as the Govt foresaw the need of more laborers’ and workers in various areas (gold mining, agriculture, health and teaching) and sifted through applicants. There was a hold placed on Chinese for economic and political reasons back then and protection of industries was practiced too so no Australian industry would be exploited. (Sadly this ‘protection’ of people and industry has gone out the door in modern times)
The Italian families worked the land incredibly hard, helped develop the cane industry and the UK settlers brought in farming and crop skills. The immigrants from UK, and later Italy and those post war feeling countries at war were all very grateful to come to such a land of freedom and promise, and were greatly valued for their heritage, their attitude and work capacity. Above all, they wanted peace and not war!
In those times no one would think of trying to dominate or betray the Prime Minister and Govt, (as there was law and order back then) or to take over the politics on the basis of their ideology and to fight for a land they thought should be ‘free’.
In those days there was sufficient discipline to quell any riotous behavior and nip it in the bud. It would have meant a court case, accountability or deportation and certainly not allowing a dual citizen to be in the Senate.
The forming of a nation back then was meant to be for the good of all, and to be a blessing to the nation and to bless new immigrants. It was based on a constitution that respected Judeo Christian values. Newcomers in turn were expected to learn the language, socialize peacefully and to fit into the culture of a free country, by exercising respect and to esteem those who invited them to come here and to help develop the country to make it a place of peace and safety – and to be a haven from the wars raging in other regions.
One wonders if the PM has read the Constitution or if the present Govt has any knowledge of how to put healthy boundaries in place.
So much destructive behavior in Parliament of late is only pulling down the nation and allowing a minority a very loud voice which is for their purposes only, not to help the nation.

Albanese omits we Christians in his speech because we are on his and Attorney-General Dreyfus’s Hit List to destroy by taking away our right under the Constitution to freedom of religion, ie the right to teach our Christian religion in our Religious schools . It ‘s an attack not just on our schools, but, on our churches. Protest and do not vote for any Party which supports this evil agenda.

Thank you James for the very significant comment: ‘Anthony Albanese is the fireman who arrives with his hose after the building has been reduced to a pile of ash.’
So much damage has been done in the last few years, which lacked Govt intervention and the ability to say ‘No more’ or to implement the laws that protect Australian citizens and also protect the innocent who can’t defend themselves.
The hose and fire truck and Chief fireman, were missing when extra boats came in, uncertified ‘visitors’ came in and didn’t leave, when the massacre of Jewish men, women and children occurred Oct 7, and when the Hamas terrorist group were not seen as a real enemy to Israel or to the West. Plus missing in action when the rallies and the University encampments began, the doxing of Jewish people -when the contact details and names of 600 Jews were given to enemies of the Jewish people here in Australia…And no arrests were made when threats came by email, phone or letter to the Jewish people concerned. The Govt just allowed these people to suffer by others placing a star of David on their house or marking their windows, or allowing their enemies to keep them under surveillance and their children meanwhile were tagged if they attended a Jewish school or wore a uniform.
Surely the fire alarm should have been ringing way back in time and a Federal Govt voice was needed to put out the fires and say ‘enough is enough.’ I so agree that a special envoy can only help clear up the ashes.
Foresight is so needed and so is the enforcement of our laws against those who break them. It doesn’t take a special envoy on anti Semitism to work that out and it is appalling to have waited so long.
May God bring realization of how to act in the early stages for our Prime Minister and Federal Govt make Australia a safer place, not a hotbed for unrest and anti Semitism, or Uni encampment, hostile rallies or a place where the Prime Minister’s own local electoral office is under seige for over 6 months. May Our Foreign Minister also learn these lessons
