Greens Founder Expelled from Party Over Transgender Ideology
Drew Hutton, 78, who helped found the Greens with Bob Brown in the 1980s, has been expelled from the party for expressing ‘trans-critical views’. On 20 July, Hutton will plead for the decision to be reversed before the Queensland Greens state council.
The Greens are anti-women, anti-free speech and anti-reality.
They have been embroiled in drama for several years over the clash of women’s sex-based rights versus the demands of trans ideology.
Members have been expelled for stating reality, backed by biological science. The latest casualty is Drew Hutton. The 78-year-old helped found the Greens party along with Bob Brown in the 1980s.
Greens’ Founder Pushes for Free Speech
Hutton has been purged for his support of women’s sex-based rights and the exercising of free speech.
Former leader Bob Brown and the party’s second national leader, Christine Milne, are supporting Hutton and have written to the party to advocate that his membership be restored.
As reported in The Guardian Australia,
“The important thing isn’t me. The important thing is the Greens.
“Are they going to be a dogmatic, authoritarian party that exerts all this top-down control over members? Or is it going to be the sort of party that people like Bob Brown and myself originally created with a historic mission to try to push the world to a more sustainable footing?”
Queensland Greens’ convenor, Gemmia Burden said, “commentary that targets people on the basis of their gender identity is harmful, not respectful. The Queensland Greens believe that trans rights are non-negotiable, and we do not tolerate transphobia or transmisogyny in the party.”
The thing is, trans identified people have more rights than most. They are colonising women’s spaces, sports and services without challenge and enjoy many special privileges under law. Female Greens party members have previously been expelled for pointing this out and advocating for women’s sex-based rights.
On his personal Facebook page, Hutton labelled these moves “authoritarian and antidemocratic”.
“I believe in full human rights for trans people at the same time as supporting the right of women to be safe from patriarchal oppression,” he wrote.
“I am also prepared to say these things publicly. Unfortunately, in the Greens at present that would seem to make me a ‘transphobe’ ….”

Hutton Calls Greens a ‘Violent Culture’ and Claims ‘Democracy is in Peril’
Writing in The Courier Mail, Hutton revealed that any criticism of ‘trans rights’ meant automatic expulsion from the Victorian branch.
They have put a clause in their code of conduct that means any member who says that a woman is a biological female and a man is a biological male is automatically expelled from the party.
Many Queensland Greens, including some very prominent ones, signed an open letter agreeing with that position.
I have been told by the Greens there will be no debate on this issue, with the Greens heading for a slippery slope with a whole raft of sensitive topics probably being outlawed from discussion and debate in the near future.
He then sounded the warning about the downfall of democracy and a rising culture of violence within the Greens party:
It is not only the principle of democracy that is in peril. There is also a growing acceptance of violence in the culture of the Greens.
Prominent Greens should not be singing rap songs advocating burning down buildings, failing to criticise the politics of Hamas or engaging in potentially violent disruptions of public meetings of women’s rights campaigners.
Expelled Greens co-founder Drew Hutton tells it like it is: “Basically a cult has taken over the Greens…This is a deeply authoritarian cult that is opposed to any debate or any free speech on issues of gender. These people would expel Bob Brown if he said anything they… pic.twitter.com/StwSo6eMgu

Hutton Attempts to Hold Contradictory ‘Rights’ Together
The lifelong Greens’ member did not want to harm trans-identified people, but felt that the discussion was an important one for all to engage in.
In this lengthy statement, Hutton claimed his original post was not written because he wanted to “say anything about the trans-gender issues themselves” but because “deeply concerned” about party officials overturning the results of democratic elections and purging members for raising questions “progressives should not be afraid to address”.
“I stand with all women, cis and trans in their struggle and recognise the many non-binary members of our party,” he wrote, signing off with a plea for “inclusive, safe and respectful” policy and process discussions.
The reality is transgender ideology and women’s sex-based rights are at odds. Only one can prevail.
Without vigorous debate and discussion women and girls will be trampled and sacrificed for the sake of the feelings of a few confused males who want to dominate women’s spaces.
The Greens have never been just about the environment, but the last few years have proven they have truly lost their way with policies that are authoritarian and are not rational or sane.

Objective truth is confronting to all at times, especially those who try to deny it.
Due to the increasing number of wise men and women speaking openly for objective truth matters, the gain-sayers are finding it increasingly harder to deny that objective truth is real, here to stay, and brings unavoidable consequences sooner or later.
They threw him out, and he wants to get back in?
If he wants to be green, he can go work in a garden.
So he helped found a party based on activism and marxist ideology, and he’s suprised they’ve adopted a rabid critical theory stance on everything!
And now that he’s adopted a slight modicum of sense, they’ve ‘parted ways’ with him. No surprise there.
The Greens need to be exposed for the watermelons they are, prominently lambasted to the Australian public, and thoroughly rejected as all marxists deserve.
Why would Drew Hutton want to remain a member of a party that has completely departed from the ideals he and Bob Brown championed?
I agree with the Greens on this one. There is nothing to discuss or debate. Transgender people are not up for debate, the same way that Catholic people would not be up for debate, or adoptive versus biological children would not be up for debate.
Update: As anticipated, Drew Hutton’s plea to overturn his expulsion from the Greens’ party on 20 July was unsuccessful.
In response, Hutton said: “Basically a cult has taken over the Greens… This is a deeply authoritarian cult that is opposed to any debate or any free speech on issues of gender. These people would expel Bob Brown if he said anything they disagreed with.”
