Sen Claire Chandler speech - what is a woman

Senator’s Speech Rips into Labor and the Greens for Refusing to Define What a ‘Woman’ Is

Few patriots in parliament burn brighter than Claire Chandler.

The 34-year-old federal Tasmanian Liberal senator’s recent defence of free speech and female-only spaces was on brand.

Speaking about the Sex Discrimination Amendment (Acknowledging Biological Reality) Bill 2024, Chandler said the removal of “woman” from the 2013 act wasn’t an oversight.

Arguing that the Gillard-era Labor government had “destroyed women’s rights”, Chandler decried the decision as deliberate.

As proof, she cited the destruction of “single-sex services, spaces and sports” as well as the Labor/Greens cabal’s recent rejection of Pauline Hanson’s amendment proposals protecting women.

This, Chandler asserted, “showed once and for all that – Labor removing ‘woman’ from the act – was no accident.”

Failing Women

Referencing the One Nation bill aimed at fixing the LGBTrans Labor Party mess, Chandler protested,

“The Labor Party deliberately turned the act designed to protect women into one designed to punish women.”

Worse, by rejecting Hanson’s amendment proposals, Labor had “teamed up with the Greens to block any possibility in this parliament of fixing the act to protect women.”

Further responding to the bill’s rejection, Chandler accused Albanese and Bandt, “of dictating to 13 million Australian women and girls that we are not allowed to have single-sex services or spaces.”

“They are dictating,” she exclaimed, “that a woman elected to this parliament is not even allowed to introduce a bill that attempts to restore the rights that women and girls used to have under the Sex Discrimination Act.”

Not only does the fiery senator torch the LGBTrans “safetyism” agenda, Chandler takes the Prime Minister to task for his hypocrisy.

Strongly suggesting Albanese was two-faced, Chandler argued,

“In the 2022 election campaign, Anthony Albanese was asked directly what a woman is.”

“His answer at the time was delivered promptly and correctly: ‘An adult female.’”

Yet, “today his government, along with the Greens, blocked the introduction of a bill that attempted to confirm in law that a woman is a member of the female sex.“

Now, Albanese and company are stating it’s “dangerous for the parliament to be able to debate a bill which would have defined woman.”

Albanese is refusing to affirm “the same position he pretended to agree with two years ago,” Chandler said, slamming the decision.

To this, Chandler added,

“The Gillard amendments had up-ended the definition of ‘sex’ so that ‘woman’ can mean ‘an adult male.’

“’Sex’ is [now] apparently based on the clothes you wear and what a state government lets you put as your preferred gender on your driver’s licence.”

Perverse

Reasserting the dangers, Chandler said she’s warned about the Gillard decision “for years”.

“But people like the Prime Minister and smug, condescending left-wing men around this country said,

‘No, ignore her. She doesn’t know what she’s talking about, and it’s not important anyway.’”

Using Sall Grover’s legal fight against LGBTQ+ lawfare as an example, Chandler remarked that “in the Tickle v Giggle case, we have seen a court in this country” prove her right.

Australia now has “a woman being punished and fined for operating a single-sex app for women, and trying to stop a man from intruding into it.”

Concluding, Chandler told the chamber – and by default all Australians,

“When their parties blocked any hope of fixing the act in this parliament, Mr Albanese and Mr Bandt [are saying they] support and encourage every single perverse outcome for women that this enables.

“When a woman is punished and dragged through the courts even for telling the truth — that a man is not a woman — Anthony Albanese, our Prime Minister, and the Australian Labor Party are the reason why.”

Responding to Chandler’s four-minute 12 September speech, Binary director Kirralie Smith wrote,

“It is beyond belief you even have to say these things. Their misogyny is off the charts.”

Senator Malcolm Roberts gave his support, adding a subtle protest and thanks for supporting the Bill.

Family First leader and ADHTV host Lyle Shelton said,

“Great speech. But it’s time the Coalition stepped up as a group, and supported lone voices like Chandler’s.

“The criticism of Albo and Bandt here applies equally to Morrison.”

Chandler was once described by leftwing media as a next-gen conservative cultural warrior.

She is as tenacious as Alex Antic and holds as much promise as Andrew Hastie.

The speech deserves a wider audience.

It’s hard to believe that there even has to be a discussion in order to define what a woman is.
Why is this great country of Australia even falling for this?
I admire , and pray for, the men and women who are standing up and speaking plainly about this farce.

Thank you Senator Claire Chandler for supporting Pauline Hanson’s Bill. I will vote for you at the next election. Yes, both Bandt and Albanese are misogynsts.
