Greens Keep Finding Candidates With a Seeming Soft Spot for Terrorists

18 October 2024

For the second time in less than a week, an ACT Greens candidate has been cautioned for appearing to support Islamic terrorists.

Some are now asking if there is a problem with the way the Greens vet their candidates.

But I’m not sure sure. Finding candidates with a soft spot for terrorists seems to be more of a feature than a bug…

Doublespeak

James Cruz, a candidate for the seat of Kurrajong, was forced to issue a ‘clarification’ after writing on social media that “more and more” people believe Hezbollah should be taken off the terror list.

Cruz wrote:

“Remove Hezbollah from the list of terrorist organisations? You’re hearing it more and more.”

The ACT Greens candidate later said he was only reflecting what others were saying, and that he himself did not support any change to Hezbollah’s classification.

Ahuh.

Very Funny

This came three days after it was revealed that another Greens candidate had favourably compared 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden with Jesus Christ, as you do.

Harini Rangarajan, a Greens candidate in the electorate of Murrumbidgee, later claimed to have been joking, as you do.

ACT Greens leader Shane Rattenbury said James Cruz’s comments raised a “sensitive and complicated issue”, but declined to comment further.

Is a non-state organisation that bombs embassies, kidnaps Jews, conducts assassinations and lobs thousands of rockets at Jewish civilians a terrorist organisation?

Hmmm. Well it’s um, complicated.

Ahuh.

Track Record

Other things Mr Rattenbury finds include lying straight into bed and hiding his animosity for the State of Israel.

But he’s hardly Robinson Crusoe in the Greens.

Just three months ago, the Greens Federal Deputy Leader Mehreen Faruqi refused to say whether or not Hamas — an organisation responsible for the brutal rape, burning, beheading and slaughter of 1,200 Israelis — should be dismantled.

And five months ago, Greens leader Adam Bandt, who demands a Palestinian state, refused to back a two-state solution. Which, of course, means Israel would cease to exist.

I’m old enough to remember when the Greens were an environmental group. Those were the days.

These days, the Greens are a dangerous, terrorist-sympathising, Israeli-hating rabble-rousing blight on our Federal, State and Territory governments.

The Greens are unfit for public office. And I measure that against a very low bar.

It remains beyond my comprehension why 12 percent of Australian voters actively decide to vote for these Marxists.
