Albanese Royal Commission

PM Claims Gold for Fastest Slow Royal Commission in History

14 January 2026

4.5 MINS

Anthony Albanese’s Royal Commission backflip is pure performance art — denying delay, rewriting history, and claiming record speed while standing still and smiling for the cameras.

As backflips go, the Prime Minister’s decision to call a Royal Commission into antisemitism is an absolute Olympic-standard dismount.

Ten out of ten from the judges.

Stuck the landing. Smiled for the cameras.

But not if you listen to him.

If you listened to Anthony Albanese on Friday morning, he hasn’t backflipped at all.

No. No.

He was ALWAYS going to call a Royal Commission.

The only thing surer than a Royal Commission into anti-Semitism was your power bill going up.

As for the delay in calling a Royal Commission… what delay?

Far from deserving criticism for not calling a Royal Commission sooner, the PM claimed he deserved a gold star for having called a Royal Commission so fast!

Record Speed

Here was Speedy Gonzales on Sunrise the other morning:

“Look, I’ve sat down in the homes of families that are grieve. I’ve listen to them. We’ve also made sure that we’ve got this right. This is actually record time for the calling of a Royal Commission.”

Well, how stupid must all those Jewish leaders feel now!

For the past month, they’ve been organising, advocating, pleading for a Royal Commission… when Albanese was going to call a Royal Commission the whole time.

How foolish those members of the community, who were raising money to fund a national advertising campaign to pressure Albo into calling a Commonwealth inquiry.

What were they thinking? What a waste of time and money.

Didn’t they realise the Prime Minister was already working on it at warp speed – just quietly, invisibly, and in a way that looked exactly like doing nothing?

His government was never against a Royal Commission. Not at all.

Your ears were lying when you heard Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke say that a Royal Commission should not be held.

Kind of like your ears were lying when you heard Albanese say that power prices would fall by $275.

You never heard Tony Burke warn that a Royal Commission was a bad idea because it would – and I quote:

“ … provide a public platform for some of the worst statements and worst voices… effectively relive some of the worst examples of antisemitism over the last two years”.

Well, okay, he might have said that… but he didn’t mean it.

What he meant was that the government was already preparing the Royal Commission they were never opposed to, while also being opposed to it, while also not being opposed to it, while also not calling it.

It’s subtle. You have to follow the nuance.

Massive Concerns

And the PM himself now assures us that those… earlier concerns about social cohesion… well, they weren’t really objections at all – they were just… pre-objections that were already being post-managed.

Albanese was asked on Friday:

Prime Minister, you and your ministers initially argued that a RC would expose very deep divisions in our society and cause big harm and that was a reason not to hold one. Do you still hold those same concerns?

And he replied straight-faced,

“Well, what we’ve done is looked at ways that we can alleviate those concerns … and on social cohesion one of the things that the conduct of the Royal Commission is that they will have to do it in a way that takes into account the need to build and protect social cohesion.”

So, to summarise:

The Royal Commission was too dangerous to hold.

Until they worked out how to hold it.

Which they were apparently already doing… while explaining why they weren’t doing it.

And if you thought you heard the PM say that a Royal Commission would take too long… well, you must have imagined that too.

Here’s Albanese again from Friday:

My priority has been dealing with all those issues while working through making sure that we go any decision around a Commonwealth Royal Commission got right.

Translation: We were busy not doing it while carefully preparing to do it, which proves just how fast we did it.

Then the PM explained how he set a world land-speed record by applying the brakes:

“What I have attempted to do in an orderly way, the way that my governmnet functions is orderly and considered to get to the right decision, do it in the right order and that is what we have sought to do here.”

So he did it fast. And he did it slow. But not so slowly that it wasn’t record-breaking fast.

Just slow enough to be “orderly and considered,” which is how this government always operates when it’s moving at unprecedented speed while standing still.

Fence-Sitting and Gaslighting

Oh, and for all you cynics who suspect Anthony Albanese has played politics with this issue…

The suspicion that he was against a Royal Commission because he didn’t want to upset Muslim voters, or have light shone on his government’s shoddy performance.

And now, the suspicion that it’s only because everyone wants a Royal Commission that Albo’s suddenly always been in favour of a Royal Commission.

This Labor Government? Playing politics? Shame on you for thinking such things.

See how our Prime Minister puts butter in his own mouth… and observe how it doesn’t melt:

“There shouldn’t be any politics in this. This is a moment for the nation to come together. This is something I haven’t done, and I haven’t responded to some of the political comments that have been made including by Mr F. I have engaged respectfully seeking to lower the temp of this debate.”

No politics here.

Just weeks of refusing to act, followed by sudden action, followed by rewriting history, followed by telling everyone they’re imagining things.

Albanese’s right.

It’s not politics.

With Albo it’s waaaaaaay beyond politics. It’s performance art.

He was always going to eventually cave to it and a given he would claim he was always going to. He had no option as the walls closed in around him.
Its so common now to see politicians lie straight to the camera. They will stand there and tell you an orange is an apple and expect you to believe it. We see it in the recent shooting of the lady in the US by an ICE agent. We see the video, the lady smiling with zero agression, we see her try to maneuver around away from them and drive away. We see zero her hitting him, zero attempt to. Then shot in the head. Yet they stand there and say “she weaponised her vehicle and tried to run over the ICE agent” Trump even went so far as to say “she ran over” the ICE agent.
Albanese is no different lying to all of Australia making out that the time taken was to get it right, he listened to the people and he’s done it in record time. He’s telling us that an Orange is an Apple. Par for the course these days with Politicians the world over. Always seen him as and still do, a wolf in sheeps clothing.

Don’t know why you’re trying to make this about the ICE shooting, where she floored the accelerator while the wheels were aiming straight at the agent, immediately before she turned. Footage clearly shows the agent being pushed back by the car.
That being said, I definitely agree that politicians should not be trusted. As a rule, they are only there for the power their positions give them over the rest of the populace, and they are most often the sort of people not to be trusted with such power.

Jon D. Seriously. Not sure what planet you are on.
Anyhow, you are right. Politicians are not to be trusted. Neither are dumb Dems who think 20million illegal immigrants in their country are ok. Just saying.

Yep – look who Albo has appointed to run the Royal Commission. I think we already know the outcome – said by Albo, with a straight face ‘ nothing to see here’. I cannot stand to look at or listen to this absolute evil bastard. Makes me want to throw up.

What Albanese was scared of that’s why he did not want to call on Royal Commission before? He was scared that what he has been hiding would be exposed! He was scared that it would come out in the investigation. But because he has appointed his own army or supporter to investigate or examine, he is in control. Him and his ministers would get away with the cross examination or investigation of the relevant issues surrounding his actions that could be connected with the crime. The Pandora box would not be touched. The investigation and results would be “cooked” in a pot. He would turn them in his favour to criminalise complaints about immigration issues, which is 15 yrs imprisonment. He is very sly, cunning, and conniving. Hitler would shy away from him.

In 2019 an Australian killed 50 New Zealanders while they were peacefully worshipping.

The Royal Commission that came out of that should provide a blueprint for us.

We look to New Zealand at this time.

As serious as this article’s topic is, I can’t help but laugh at James’ unique way of saying truths:

“Just slow enough to be “orderly and considered,” which is how this government always operates when it’s moving at unprecedented speed while standing still”.
