Parents deserve to know when taxpayer-funded schools partner with advocacy groups to shape how children are taught about sex, gender and identity.
Who Decides What Your Child Is Taught?
How would you feel if you were told that your child’s school, through the Education Department, was obliged to teach children that they could be born in the wrong body and that babies were ‘assigned’ their sex at birth?
How would you feel if your daughter were forced, by threat of detention, to call a confused boy by a girl’s name, and allow him in the girls’ toilets?
And what about Mr Jones, your child’s teacher? What if, after the school holidays, the Principal tells students they must now call him Miss Jones? The Principal emails all parents that Mr Jones was proudly assisted by the Education Department to be the ‘gender’ they really wanted to be – something to be truly celebrated. How does that sit with you?

While this is not common in faith-based schools (although it is in a few), it is par for the course in many public schools around the country. Often, it is embedded in ’Respectful Relationship’ personal development lessons. Some content is great. That on gender and inclusion, however, should make every parent concerned.
But how on earth do schools become obliged to teach this stuff? It defies biology and Christian teaching. It’s not knowledge-based, so how did it get there?
The Advocacy Groups Inside Our Education Departments
You won’t want to hear this, but every state Education Department in Australia, plus the Federal Department, is aligned with one or several transgender advocacy groups. ACON (previously the Aids Council of NSW) is the dominant group, among others including Transcend, Minus18, Transhub, Working it Out and Shine SA.
Funded by the private sector and government, all actively promote transgender ideology, including that a baby is ‘assigned’ their sex at birth. Implied here is that because their sex was ‘assigned’, it can then be ‘reassigned’. A boon to the medical and drug companies.
The ABC was forced to cut its ties with ACON’s Pride in Diversity program due to its strong influence on news reporting and program content. Some would say not much has changed.
In August 2026, the Queensland Department of Education was forced to resign its membership of ACON after a parent petition raised nearly 1,000 signatories in a few days. The Declaration of Biological Truth (DOBT) fostered the petition, but the Queensland parents forced the change.

It is still open if Queenslanders want to drive home the point. I suggest you do.
How Do They Influence Your Child’s School?
On signing up and paying their fee to an organisation like ACON, Education Departments are obliged to follow certain guidelines. They must engage in and promote gender and LGBTQA celebration days like Wear it Purple and IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia).
We’re not talking besuited officials in tall buildings having a party with rainbow cakes and tea; we’re talking school-based celebrations, sometimes lasting a full day.
Another guideline states the Department must offer Transgender Support to staff. This includes ‘… paid leave frameworks supporting employees undergoing gender affirmation’.
Confused teachers get extra paid leave for gender clinic consultations, surgery and hormone sessions. This is on top of any normal sick-leave entitlements.
Need more time for your hip replacement to heal? Too bad. Need more time to have your body parts irreversibly altered? Take as much leave as you like.
Queensland Parents Push Back — And Win
The Queensland Department of Education proudly supported five school-based staff to ‘affirm their gender’ in 2024.
So why haven’t parents rallied against these alliances and the ideological concepts they bring to taxpayer-funded schools?
It’s simple. They haven’t known about it.
At no time have Education authorities notified parents of their alliances and what it means for their children’s education. The ‘transparency’ word is unknown to Australian Education.

ACON also has transparency issues. Organisations can be financial members of ‘Pride in Diversity’ and be ‘undisclosed’. Nothing to see here!!!
The most recent research undertaken by the DOBT found 91% of parents did not know there was any education alliance with trans or LGBTQA groups. A vast majority said they’d be unhappy if there was. Only 13% said they’d be happy with it.
When 87% of the people you are meant to serve object to such an alliance, it’s no wonder parents are kept in the dark.
The bottom line is that 85.6% of parents believe gender and LGBTQA education does NOT belong in schools. The message is clear.

Queensland parents made their voices heard and won. All states will have a petition open to parents by the beginning of next year.
A NSW petition is already open to force NSW Education to quit its alliance with ACON. Revealingly, Murat Dizdar, the CEO of NSW Education, won ACON’s CEO of the year in 2025. A cosy relationship indeed.

For a democracy to work, its people must be truthfully informed. For a totalitarian regime to work, facts must be hidden.
So now the truth is out. A dangerous and scientifically contested ideology is being channelled through the school system that you, as a taxpayer, fund.
Children aren’t born in the wrong body. Babies aren’t ‘assigned’ their sex at birth, and taxpayers aren’t stupid. Time to make that known.
