Day 25: Will You Say YES?
Intention
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us!
Scripture
“Jesus said, ‘Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [whole human race].” – Mark 16:15 (AMP)
Reflection
‘The Great Commission’ spoken by Jesus to His disciples over 2,000 years ago is also found in Matthew 28:19-20. The moment Jesus uttered the word ‘Go’, He expected His disciples to obey Him. But they were hesitant. Just as it took time for His disciples to be transformed into God’s way of thinking, it takes time for us to believe Jesus’ words, to be transformed by the Holy Spirit and to obey.
I don’t think we have much time nowadays to procrastinate. As you can see, we live in a very broken and confused world, and our way of life is being challenged by what we see and hear daily — all the more as the day of the Lord’s return is approaching. People are searching, and we have the answers — so how do we find the courage to use our voice?
Here’s an example of how God used me to be His Voice.
In 2017, while preaching in our church in the Lockyer Valley, Queensland, the Holy Spirit chose three women from the congregation. I took each of them by the hand, led them to the front, anointed them with oil, and commissioned them for the Lord’s work. For two years, we prayed together, never knowing how the Lord would use us. But we grew in faith.
During a prayer meeting later, God asked us to anoint the grounds we stood on, so we prayed and poured out two litres of oil around the church and then went to enter the sanctuary. No sooner had I reached the altar than the Holy Spirit knocked me off my feet.
God was doing something. We didn’t know what. We spoke in tongues for hours, and, as I lay on my back, arms lifted, I was being used to push back the powers of darkness over the valley. I dismissed the ladies as it was getting dark. I arose three hours later.
Then, a week later, my name was put forward by the Lockyer Valley Ministers as the main speaker for the Mayoral Christmas Carols.
We used the exact process of anointing the grounds with oil and prayer, which prepared the open-air field for outreach to approximately 1,100 people. The Gospel was preached and hundreds responded to the invitation.
Why am I sharing this?
I am sharing it because I am nobody special. All I did was say ‘Yes, Lord.’ And, you know what? Driving home that night — sick to the stomach — the Lord asked, ‘Will you do it again?’
What do you think I said?

Prayer
Father,
You gave me the same power and authority that You gave Jesus when He walked the Earth, and now He has given me these instructions to ‘Go’. Help me to grow in faith and trust You when You say, ‘I will be with you always, until the very end of this age.’
Give me the strength to get up, step out of my door and share my testimony with others who are hurting and seeking the answers You have given me.
Romans 10:13-14 says, “For whoever shall call upon the Lord shall be saved… but how shall they hear without someone telling them.”
Amen!
