Prayer for Healing This Wednesday Night
Join us on Zoom this Wednesday night as we pray for healing, in line with James 5:14–18.
This Wednesday night our regular Zoom prayer meeting will be dedicated to praying for healing. While we have held nights like this before, we have never publicly promoted a healing night as we are doing this time.
Praying for Healing
Praying for those who are sick or injured is commanded in Scripture. Jesus’ brother James wrote that we “should” do it. “Is anyone among you sick? He should call for the elders of the church, and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” (James 5:14)
James goes on to say, “The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is very powerful in its effect.” (James 5:15–16)

James then goes on to give an example of some who received answered prayer: Elijah!
Remarkably, he states that Elijah was just like us. His point? Elijah was no more special than you or I. Any righteous person can see powerful effects in prayer (James 5:17–18).
Answers to Prayer for Healing
During past Canberra Declaration Zoom healing times, we have witnessed God answer prayer for healing many times. We expect answers to prayer this Wednesday night too as we call on the name of the Lord Jesus, our Saviour (1 Cor 1:2). Here are three short testimonies.
“Recently, I had a friend rushed to hospital by ambulance with a very serious heart condition. That same night 4 people in a Zoom breakout room prayed for God to heal my friend. Miraculously she was healed and went home the very next day much to the surprise of the doctors. God is good. He alone can do the impossible!”
