Day 13: The Call to Sanctification
Intention
To obey God’s call for our sanctification by living lives of sexual integrity.
Scripture
“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality.”
– 1 Thessalonians 4:3
Reflection
Our nation’s moral compass is deeply faltering. As a result, our country continues to drift rapidly off course. What was once secret or taboo is now widely accepted by the Church and society, especially sexual immorality.
Sexual integrity has faded into a blur. There is little distinction between right or wrong, especially for people who are in relationships whether they are married, beginning a relationship or determining their own decisions regarding sexuality.
So many people have been misguided by listening to the lies of Satan. He gives false security about sexuality integrity, leading people to think that their wrong relationships, support of homosexuality, adultery and de facto relationships are normal. Satan even goes as far as saying, “This is God’s will for your life”.
Because much of society accepts this sexual immorality, sadly the Church and government have given in to these perverse practices.
In our nation, sexual immorality is found even within families. Sins committed against children and incest have resulted in domestic violence and even murder.
These sexually immoral crimes have been highlighted among our Indigenous communities. In some cases, child brides have had many children by the time of consensual age. This custom is also often practised by foreign cultures living in our nation.
Sadly, so many young men think sexual immorality gives them a rite of passage with no responsibilities. Conversely, there is an acceptance among young women to become single teenage mothers without full comprehension of motherhood.
But God’s will for our life is our sanctification (1 Thessalonians 4:3). He desires that we are “set apart for His purposes and glory”. He wants our moral compass to align completely with His true moral north.
Our prayer is that our nation will see the need for sexual integrity and acknowledge that this epidemic needs to be healed. Thankfully, “If we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
We pray for our nation, which has accepted sexual immorality and no longer acknowledges Your distinctions between right and wrong. Bring our country back to an acceptance of Your Word, which reveals Your standards for sexual integrity.
If there is any area where I have veered off course for Your will for my life – my sanctification – I repent. I choose this day to come back into alignment with Your will for my life. Sanctify me and set me apart for Your purposes and glory.
We ask this based on Your will for all people to live lives of sexual integrity.
In Jesus’ name, amen.

A sad society –Sodom + Gomorrah. Promiscious, teenage girls are girls who have no sense of self worth. I heard from my husband the horrible , coarse way males call females who go from man to man. I will not repeat it. Perhaps if they heard what they think of them , they might stop ?
