Launch of School Antisemitism Education Project and Honouring William Cooper at NAIDOC 2025
Famous Aboriginal singer, artist, didjeridoo player, and educator Dr David Hudson (shown above) will speak about William Cooper, the father of NAIDOC, at a NAIDOC event Indigenous Friends of Israel International are hosting on 7 July at 5.30 pm at the Munganbana Aboriginal Art Gallery, 33 Lake Street, Cairns.
David played the didgeridoo at the Be’er-Sheva centenary in Israel in 2017. Rabbi Ari Rubin will also speak on William Cooper’s legacy.
William Cooper and the Antisemitism Education Project
The launch of the children’s book on William Cooper, intended as a resource for the Schools Antisemitism Education Project, is currently on hold. Instead, the focus has changed to officially launching the School Project itself.
However, we do have books about William Cooper available, authored by Barbara Miller.
Shoshana Linnane will be in Cairns, so we will hear from her and Barbara Miller regarding the Antisemitism Education Project they have been working on. Shoshana has done an excellent job as a curriculum writer. We plan to launch it in capital cities around Australia in the near future, after meeting with education authorities and schools who have shown interest.

We will also show a short video and enjoy refreshments.
