NSW Libertarians Push for Sex-Selective Abortion Ban
New South Wales legislative Libertarian John Ruddick wants to end sex selective abortions in the state.
Ruddick’s Abortion Law Reform Amendment (Sex Selection Prohibition) Bill was motioned on 7 August and is scheduled to be presented in full on 22 October.
Speaking with persistent Australian pro-lifer Dr Joanna Howe about the bill, a fiery Ruddick slammed naysayers, stating,
“The debate’s over. Gender selection abortion is happening in Australia.”
“Edith Cowan University analysed 2.1 million births in this country over 20 years, in NSW, and WA.”
“It’s morally wrong, gender-based murder, and we need a law to prevent sex selection abortion to stop it from happening.”
Where are all the “feminists” now? Killing baby girls just because they’re girls is plain wrong and disturbingly it IS happening in NSW. Join us for a public rally on the day @JohnRuddick2 will introduce his bill banning sex-selection abortion in NSW 🔥

Cultural Preference
According to Edith Cowan University’s 2025 study, the practice of sex-selective abortion appeared highest among children born to Indian, Chinese and Vietnamese mothers.
“Our findings suggest patterns consistent with male-biased Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) among certain immigrant groups in Australia,” explained Edith Cowan University.
“Particularly immigrants from countries with a strong son [cultural] preference, such as India and China.”
Although the university’s findings did not “establish causality”, they said the male-to-female SRB ratio imbalance indicated that the cultural preference was likely to blame.
Edith Cowan University then asserted that “there needs to be strict enforcement of existing legislation.”
This includes “public awareness campaigns about the consequences of sex imbalance.”
Because of this, Edith Cowan University warned: “Sex–sex–determination technologies like Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) should not be used to reveal non–medical traits of the fetus, including sex.”
Ruddick’s sex-selective abortion ban has some weighty backing.
The full bill forwarded by Ruddick to The Daily Declaration states,
- “A person must not cause, permit, perform, or assist in the performance of a termination on a person for the purposes of sex selection.”
- “Despite any other provision of this part, a health practitioner must not perform, or assist in the performance of, a termination on a person if the practitioner has committed an offence under subsection.”
These proposals, listed as Schedules 1 and 2, affect Section 11A and Section 16 of the 2019 Abortion Law Reform Act.
Schedule 3 affects the Health Care Liability Act.
The New South Wales Libertarian bill will void “approved professional indemnity insurance.”
This is specifically “for any registered health practitioner who performs, or assists in the performance of, a termination on a person for the purposes of sex selection.”
Save Our Girls
Dr Joanna Howe applauded Ruddick’s ban, stating that “it aims to end anti-girl sex selective abortions.”
The practice “selectively targets girls and we know from numerous studies now – including the Edith Cowan University report – prove that in New South Wales, baby girls are being killed.”
Just because they are girls, she argued.
“This has to stop, whether you’re against abortion or for abortion.”
“It actually doesn’t matter. Killing girls just because of their gender is absolutely disgusting.”
“A lot of people don’t know about this topic, because there’s a cover-up,” Dr Howe remarked.
For this reason, Dr Howe has organised a Save Our Girls speaking tour with Ruddick.
The first NSW event was held last weekend, and will end in a rally planned for 22 October outside Parliament House in Sydney, to support the Libertarian’s legislative pro-life proposals.
As Dr Howe’s website explains, “this rally is our chance to stand with John and demand change.”

File under: Multiculturalism has failed.
Great news John Ruddick. Praying that the Bill succeeds. Beautiful Creations will be saved.
a mother and father who don’t want a girl and are prepared to kill it rather than birth it won’t be suitable as parents of a girl
That’s the real problem .You can’make them want a baby ..
Unless they start being punished for falling pregnant recklessly or with attitude unfit for purpose then there’s no answer You can’t flood orphanages with unwanted baby girls .
here’s the Bible’s version which no church will have ever told you , most likely , the fact is that it is an abomination on God’s eyes for people to engage in any sexual act EXCEPTING ,that between a husband and his wife accepted as such before God , for the sole and only purpose of conceiving a baby .Everything else is an Abomination in God’s eyes .Says so straight out ,totally directly zero ambiguity.
