We are watching in real time the end of Europe.

All the ingredients are there in Europe for the perfect storm: rejection of its Christian past; the embrace of secularism; the radical left takeover of institutions of power and influence; the refusal to keep borders secure; the failed multi culti dream; the importation of millions upon millions of migrants, many of whom do not want to assimilate but instead want to take over; and so on.

What we are seeing happening right now all over Europe really appears to be the collapse of Europe. Unless there is divine intervention, Europe as we used to know it appears to be over. And as mentioned above, all this has been overwhelmingly deliberate.

Useless leaders, elites, politicians, media figures, academics and others have all cheered this on for decades now. Those who have been more forthright have stated their aims, and have celebrated each statue destroyed, each institution desecrated, each policeman killed, each city set on fire, each riot, each act of looting, each act of defiance against the West.

The radical left in bed with Islam makes for the ideal way to destroy a nation, a culture, and a continent. That is what we are now witnessing. When you allow untold millions of third-worlders to invade a nation — even giving them free housing, free phones, free medical help, free education — with no questions asked and no expectations, then you will get exactly what we are now seeing in Paris and elsewhere.

France’s Unrest Sparks Fears for the West

Zimbabwean cultural commentator Farai Mazhindu put it this way:

France will not recover; this is the end. The nation has lost the cultural war. The demographic structure has shifted forever. People who find it easy to spray graffiti on the magnificent architecture of French cities and burn Paris are the new French people. All class and decorum are gone.

Arrivals from failed third-world states are not coming to assimilate or to be French; they are coming to live the third-world way. The unfolding civil unrest in France is not fundamentally about student grievances or dilapidated classrooms. The chaos is the inevitable result of an unholy, anti-white alliance that has turned parts of major French cities into dangerous enclaves where state authority has completely surrendered.

The Emmanuel Macron administration has completely lost control. The political elite have spent years hiding the true demographic shifts, pretending that multicultural integration works while the traditional French way of life is hollowed out. The French state is broke and paralyzed because it has spent decades funding its own demographic replacement.

The areas burning today are heavily linked to enclaves where the police rarely dare to venture, zones where Western legal norms have been replaced by radical, sectarian influences. While the mainstream media tries to fact-check the footage by calling it old or out of context, the raw video on the ground shows a society reaching a violent tipping point.

This unrest is a warning sign for the entire Western world. A country that refuses to defend its borders, its history, and its culture will eventually face the progressive implosion of social trust. Once you surrender your borders and sacrifice your national identity to accommodate diasporas with totally different cultural backgrounds, you do not get a richer society; you get a war zone. France has completely failed its own people.

Countries like France have long demanded a two-state solution in the Middle East while recognising an imaginary Palestinian state and denouncing Israel. Well, they now have it — France, Germany, England, Spain, etc., now have two-state solutions: the original European populations are shrinking, and those from the third world are taking over.

As Alexandra Marshall has put it: “France is a fourth-world country. Defined as a first-world country that collapses overnight after being attacked by the third world and socialism. There is no safe harbour for European refugees.” The authorities have been unwilling or unable to do anything about the full-scale rioting now taking place in countries like France.

Or as Dr Maria Maalouf has written: “The situation at the Place de la République in Paris. Thousands of projectiles were launched against the police by Islamic rioters, and the ground is now completely covered in debris. This is the kind of scene you’d only expect to see in a war zone.”

Gerald Posner said this about the situation:

The next time someone tells you the protests sweeping France are students demanding better schools, show them some of the footage from Paris, Lyon and Marseille and other cities that shows something else entirely: burning cars, looted stores, hooded mobs, and Palestinian flags. Police have deployed tear gas, stun grenades and water cannons, and by one count made more than 6,000 arrests, mostly minors released without charge. Why can’t or won’t the government stop it?

And I have to go along with Rod Dreher here: “Do the French have the will to fight back, with everything they have? Or are they just going to let the 3rd World and leftist rabble have their country? Send in the Army, guns locked and loaded, & restore order. And then deport w/o delay or apology. Send Macron & Melenchon too.”

Yes, the leadership should be tarred and feathered and run out of town. And we have videos showing Macron enjoying a concert while the city burns all around him: Writes Ryan Fournier:

“While France burns and riots tear through the streets, Emmanuel Macron was spotted dancing at a Celine Dion concert. People can’t afford groceries, cities are falling to chaos, and the leadership is out partying. Unbelievable out-of-touch arrogance. France deserves better!”

The Warning Signs of Cultural Decline

Not only have the leftist elites of Europe allowed and promoted this to happen, but this has always been part of Islam’s game plan. For many decades now, Dr Peter Hammond has written about how the Islamic takeover of the West proceeds. Here is an abbreviated portion of what he has discussed (although there can be room to move with his figures):

Islamisation begins when there are sufficient Muslims in a country to agitate for their religious rights. When politically correct, tolerant, and culturally diverse societies agree to Muslim demands for their religious rights, some of the other components tend to creep in as well. Here’s how it works.

As long as the Muslim population remains around or under 2% in any given country, they will be for the most part being regarded as a peace-loving minority, and not as a threat to other citizens…

At 2% to 5%, they begin to proselytise from other ethnic minorities and disaffected groups, often with major recruiting from the jails and among street gangs…

From 5% on, they exercise an inordinate influence in proportion to their percentage of the population. For example, they will push for the introduction of halal (clean by Islamic standards) food…

At this point, they will work to get the ruling government to allow them to rule themselves (within their ghettos) under Sharia, the Islamic Law. The ultimate goal of Islamists is to establish Sharia law over the entire world.

When Muslims approach 10% of the population, they tend to increase lawlessness as a means of complaint about their conditions…

After reaching 20%, nations can expect hair-trigger rioting, jihad militia formations, sporadic killings, and the burnings of Christian churches and Jewish synagogues…

From 60%, nations experience unfettered persecution of non-believers of all other religions (including non-conforming Muslims), sporadic ethnic cleansing (genocide), use of Sharia Law as a weapon, and Jizya, the tax placed on infidels…

After 80%, expect daily intimidation and violent jihad, some State-run ethnic cleansing, and even some genocide, as these nations drive out the infidels…

100% will usher in the peace of ‘Dar-es-Salaam’ the Islamic House of Peace. Here there’s supposed to be peace, because everybody is a Muslim, the Madrasses are the only schools, and the Koran is the only word…

What we see going on in Europe is without doubt going to be seen increasingly in Australia and America (it already is, in fact). Texas Senator Ted Cruz is not ignorant of what is happening: “We are witnessing Islamists right now burning Paris because Europe has committed cultural suicide. We should look to France as foreshadowing for what America faces if we don’t stop this here. We are fighting to save our nation.”

A Call to Prayer and Spiritual Renewal

Surely our only real hope must now come from above. Without God, we are all toast, and soon all Western cities will likely be going up in flames like Paris now is. I always think of these powerful words by Francis Schaeffer from his 1984 book The Great Evangelical Disaster:

Do not take this lightly! It is a horrible thing for a man like myself to look back and see my country and my culture go down the drain in my own lifetime. It is a horrible thing that sixty years ago you could move across this country and almost everyone, even non-Christians, would have known what the gospel was. A horrible thing that fifty to sixty years ago our culture was built on the Christian consensus, and now this is no longer the case. Once again I would refer to Romans 1:21, 22: “although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools.”

It took many centuries to build Western civilisation. It is now being torn down in a matter of days and hours. As Will and Ariel Durant in The Lessons of History wrote: “Civilization is not inherited; it has to be learned and earned by each generation anew; if the transmission should be interrupted for one century, civilization would die, and we should be savages again.”

Or as Roger Scruton correctly observed: “Good things are easily destroyed, but not easily created… The work of destruction is quick, easy and exhilarating; the work of creation is slow, laborious and dull. That is one of the lessons of the twentieth century.”

Right before our very eyes, we are witnessing what might well be the death-knell of Europe. So many people for so very long have been warning about this. But the warnings have gone unheeded. Perhaps all we can now do is get on our faces before Almighty God and pray as never before.
