Day 20: A Faith Awakening

20 October 2026

3 MINS

Intention

To pray prayers of faith, knowing that without faith it is impossible to please God.

Scripture

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation…

“But without faith it is impossible to please him, for he who comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.”

– Hebrews 11:1–2, 6

“The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up; if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.”

– James 5:15

“Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, everything you pray and ask for — believe that you have received it and it will be yours.”

– Mark 11:23–24

Reflection

In 2004, the Lord spoke to me in a dream, saying, “Go to Borneo to pray.” I said, “Lord, what shall I pray?” He replied, “Pray the prayer of faith for revival.” I said, “Lord, where is Borneo?” He replied, “Indonesia.”

This dream birthed some 20 years of missionary travel to Indonesia and around the world. As we travel, we pray in faith for revival. The Lord has answered our prayers of faith with wonderful moves of his Spirit, with miracles, signs and wonders.

The prayer of faith opens the windows of heaven for revival. It is powerful to bring healing and deliverance.

Prayer offered in faith is pleasing to God. Jesus repeatedly honoured faith, but was amazed when people had “little faith” (e.g. Matthew 8:26; 14:31). Without faith, our prayers cannot please God. Prayer without faith is mere empty, religious words.

Faith is not merely mental assent to doctrine. It is trust that takes root in the heart — a secure confidence in God and a divine assurance in the Word of God. It often means trusting his promises when our natural senses tell us otherwise. It is the confidence that God will heal even when the doctor’s report gives no hope.

The prayer of faith confidently trusts God to do what is humanly impossible. It rests its hope in the promises of God rather than the limitations of human ability.

When we pray, we should do so with faith in our hearts, thanking and praising God for the answer before we see it. Faith receives God’s promises before their fulfilment is visible to the human eye. Faith sets its focus on heaven; its expectation is in God. And so, faith praises God, declaring his faithfulness.

Prayer

Father God, we pray for Australia. We ask that you visit this great nation in revival. Pour out your Holy Spirit on its people — in governments, schools, businesses, churches and families. Give us the grace of repentance and humility. Set our hearts on fire to seek you, to hunger and thirst for you.

Lord, this is our prayer of faith. We believe your promises; help us to trust you without wavering. In Jesus’ name, we thank you. Amen.

Prayer Points for October 2026

We are praying for the Church to:

  1. Awaken to her first love for Jesus (Ephesians 5:14; Revelation 2:4).
  2. Awaken to evangelism so that millions will trust in Christ (John 3:16; Proverbs 11:30).
  3. Awaken to her prophetic voice to the nation (Isaiah 52:1; Matthew 14:4).

We invite you to support this campaign to multiply prayer in Australia for revival and see millions come to faith in Christ. Every donation to the Canberra Declaration helps us promote prayer and make a stand for family, faith, freedom, life, and the good news of God’s love through Jesus Christ.
