Among so many of Australia’s church leaders, on the profoundly important issues of Indigenous injustice, we find caution rather than courage.

I think the Voice will fail, and I think that it will be in the interests of Aboriginal Australians ultimately for it to fail, because I fear the consequences.

The Voice is being promoted by those who are living off our peoples’ miseries. They are the educated, confident ones who constantly blame kardiya for our problems and do all they can to keep voices like mine unheard.

The Voice referendum reveals some interesting dimensions of contemporary Australian culture that are being obscured by the political debate.
