Love Sydney to Hold Its Second Walk for Life on 21 September!
After its first highly successful Walk for Life last year, Love Sydney’s annual event will continue to build momentum for the pro-life movement.
Thousands are expected to converge at Sydney’s central Hyde Park this Saturday afternoon for Love Sydney’s 2024 Walk for Life. Please register for the Walk using this link.
Last year’s Walk for Life was the very first in the harbour city, hosted by the pro-life organisation Love Australia/Love Sydney.

In a statement given to The Daily Declaration, a spokesperson wrote, “Love Sydney exists to stand for truth and intercede for the preborn through gathering together with others who are in agreement with our mission. We are excited to host the second annual Walk for Life in the heart of Sydney!”
Now in its second year, the organisation plans to gather increased support as it pushes back against the abortion-to-birth Reproductive Health Care Reform Bill 2019 passed in the NSW parliament.
Senator Ralph Babet on Babies Born Alive after a Failed Abortion
Last year’s walk also featured Senator Ralph Babet speaking on the topic of babies born alive after a failed abortion, but left to die.
In his 2023 speech, Babet referenced the tragic death of Jessica Jane.
“We know from a Northern Territory coroner’s report that Jessica Jane was born alive at 515g.
“She was placed in a cold metal kidney dish, after her birth, where she lay, and she cried, for about an hour and a half, before she died.
“This is how real this is.”
The Senator for Victoria recently moved a motion of urgency to recognise the fact that in Victoria and Queensland, at least one baby is born alive after a failed abortion and left to die. Babet moved that the Senate condemn the practice.
But the motion failed to gather majority support, instead being voted down 18 to 32.
A New Year; a New Hope
Abortion-to-birth is now legal in all states and territories in Australia. Tragically, the lives of around 88,000 Australian babies are terminated via abortion every year.
Yet, Love Sydney puts on an event characterised by faith, hope and love (1 Cor 13:13).
The organisation states, “As we walk, may our countenance and attitude of our faith be evident with all interactions with each other.
“We welcome everyone who wishes to stand for life with us in this respectful way, regardless of their faith, ethnicity, age or gender. This is a free, ticketed event and is family-friendly.
“Please remember: no megaphones or signs. Our official signs will be available for you to carry while at this event.
“Please obey the marshals, security team and police on the walk and don’t forget to wear a WHITE shirt.
“Our role is simple – to stand in the gap and be a voice for the voiceless, as we cover Sydney in prayer and love.
“You will hear motivational speakers before embarking on our walk around Hyde Park.”
One invited speaker is Dr Jereth Kok, a medical doctor who was deregistered by AHPRA in 2019 over social media posts that included criticism of the ethics of abortion. Dr Kok cites the Hippocratic Oath, “Do no harm”, in defence of his position that abortion (except where the mother’s life is in danger) is medically immoral.
Every Walk for Life is Vitally Important
Pro-life individuals, churches and organisations do not need to put on public events to continue their work.
But public visibility and working together are vitally important.
Disciples of Jesus are commanded to meet together (Heb 10:25) to “encourage each other”. The same principle applies to this Walk for Life.
“The importance of making the effort to gather publicly to stand for life can not be overstated”, Love Sydney said.
“Let it not be said of us that we were silent when history recalls the greatest moral issue of all time.
“Please join us to show your support for life, declaring every life is a gift and offer the compassion needed to help those hurt by a past abortion to find their pathway to healing.”

A Hope-Filled Event
Love Sydney is dedicated to promoting life, love and hope. This includes to those who are facing an unplanned pregnancy and those whose past involves an abortion.
Last year, a Love Sydney speaker offered the following invitation: “If you are here today and you are facing an unplanned pregnancy, or are hurt by a past abortion, please know that you are not alone.
“There is help available.”
Senator Ralph Babet also concluded his speech with hope-filled words.
“The only child God ever intended to be sacrificed was His own child. That’s it,” he said.
“He loved us so much that He sacrificed His Son Jesus once and for all.”
“You may not believe that the Christian faith is true, but we should all want it to be.
“As part of the human race, we have been created to love them both.”

Terrible that so many politicians voted against it in the Senate . It shows just how evil, inhumane our society has become since the end of WW2 that it does not have a shred of compassion for babies born alive who are left to die . How can people claim to be “human”when they behave like this ? They are no different to Nazi Dr Mengler + The Beast of Belsen , and other Nazis who were declared monsters + prosecuted + condemned to death at the Nuremberg War Crimes Trials after WW2. This change in attitudes has happened because people have turned away from Christianity and abandoned all morality aided by academics + the media,
