Taught as Truth

Atheistic evolution is taught as truth in the majority of schools in Australia today. How might this indoctrination of our children impact the future of Australia and our way of life?

In the Word of God we read,

“So God created man in His own image,
in the image of God created He him;
male and female created He them.”
~ Genesis 1:27 (NIV)

God has seen fit to endow mankind with qualities and characteristics which, in some way known fully only to Him, reflect His image, and totally distinguishes man from any other created thing. The animals are amazingly well-designed, but do not carry God’s image.

The evolutionary worldview claims that everything came into existence by natural processes over billions of years. It makes no mention of God in the creation of the universe or anything in it. Evolution is not a proven scientific theory. Far from it. It is a belief system or worldview about the nature of the world and of reality that excludes God.

The Account of Creation is Denied

For the past half-century, evolutionists have strenuously opposed teaching competing theories of origins in public schools. Public education policies in Australia today regard evolution as a scientifically-proven theory. They do not recognise Biblical creation or intelligent design as valid scientific theories.

As such, their policies do not support the teaching of creation or intelligent design in the classroom. In effect, the state is imposing one particular belief system in government schools. This is not just an Australian problem, but a global one.

There is a network of Christian schools who do teach that God created man in His own image, but how long the New Australian Curriculum will permit this is not known.

Opposition

Satan delights in destroying men, women and children made in God’s own image. He is using atheistic evolution to deceive mankind into believing that they have evolved from animals. People today will risk their lives to save the whales, while looking the other way when humans deliberately terminate the lives of their own babies through abortion. David Attenborough, highly acclaimed naturalist and proponent of evolution, regards humanity as “a plague on the earth”.

Survival of the Fittest

It was Charles Darwin who gave Western civilisation an excuse to reject God as Creator. His theory of evolution convinced many in his day that man was in effect a cosmic accident. The complete title of Darwin’s famous book was The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.

Darwin himself, as the title noted, clearly believed that some races were inferior to others. The evolutionary belief system reinforces and even justifies racist tendencies in people. It is a worldview.

The Bloodstained Legacy of Evolution

Extensive research has recently thrown much light on the influence of Darwin on Hitler and Nazi ideology. Hitler openly intended to produce a superior race and relied heavily upon evolution and Darwinian thought in both his social and extermination policies.

The founder of communism, Karl Marx, was an avid adherent of Darwin. Joseph Stalin, the world’s worst mass murderer, became an atheist after reading Darwin. China’s Mao Zedong is known to have regarded Darwin as one of his favourite authors.

Both Nazism and Communism are largely based on the teachings of Darwin. Because atheistic evolution disregarded the authority of the Bible on human origins, it meant that there was no accountability to God for the mass murders they used to implement their ideas.

Sowing and Reaping

If our children are taught that human beings are just another animal on the evolutionary ladder and that ultimately it is ‘survival of the fittest’, is it any wonder that bullying is rife in our schools? Will our children begin to look at other children as less evolved and less human, and not deserving a fair go?

The apostle Paul describes what happens when people deliberately suppress the truth about God in order to live self-centered lifestyles. He writes,

“… their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened … [they] exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.”
~ Romans 1:21,23

In other words, they worshipped man and the creation, but not the Creator!

A population that is sold out to atheistic evolution is in grave danger of creating a society which discards or eliminates those considered weak or useless to society. As we have seen so often from human history, this is done using brutal means. The destruction of men, women and children as the image-bearers of God is the aim of the devil. We need to pray.

Prayer:

Eternal and Loving God, we worship You as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe.
Thank You that You created mankind for Yourself in Your “own image” (Genesis 1:27).
We are the pinnacle of Your creation and Your “workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works” (Ephesians 2:10).

We repent that we have allowed the belief in evolution to take root in our society.
We now have a generation who have embraced the lies that man is just another animal on the evolutionary ladder, and that ultimately it is the survival of the fittest. We hear the cry to save the whales, while at the same time we allow abortion of our own babies on demand.

This day we pray against the demonic stronghold of, evolution that declares man to be a cosmic accident. In the name of Jesus we smash, tear down and demolish these lies of the enemy that are being taught in our schools as fact. O God, deliver us from these deathly lies and delusions of Satan. In the powerful and precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
