“He who controls the language rules the world.”

Joseph Stalin

Dictators have tried to control Christian civilisation with armies. Today, they find it more cost-effective to control us by controlling what we can say and how we can say it.

We think in words. So, anyone who can control our words can control what we think.

The label “racist”, for example, is used to stop us from discussing an unpopular immigration system that is imposed by “bipartisan” policies that rob voters of any choice. “Racist” is also applied inappropriately to people who object to bringing in large numbers of immigrants whose religion, not their race, is vehemently anti-Christian and anti-Jewish.

There are plenty of other examples of language designed to control how we think and speak. However, one is so subtle and so influential that it warrants special attention.

It’s Left vs Right, Right?

Throughout the recent election campaign, we heard the words “left” and “right” repeatedly. We commonly call the Labor Party left-wing and the Liberal Party right-wing. So, how does that language influence our political thinking?

It is widely accepted that Hitler represents the extreme right-wing and Stalin represents the extreme left-wing. Let’s consider that for a moment.

Hitler was a National Socialist. Stalin was a Soviet Socialist. Both used secret police and torture to impose Marx’s “Socialist dictatorship” on the unfortunate people under their control. These two socialist dictators and their various political offspring murdered 127 million of their own citizens in the 20th century.

There’s hardly a skerrick of difference between “left” and “right” even in the esoteric details of their socialist dogmas. Yet we are constantly told “left” and “right” are poles apart politically.

Moreover, this careless use of language implies that everyone’s political ideas fit somewhere between the ideas of two cruel socialist dictators.

Mine don’t. Do yours?

Destroying False Arguments

Who would want us to believe such nonsense? Who would want to subtly embed that falsehood in the minds of whole nations? Could the father of lies have set up this stronghold in the minds of entire populations to distort our systems of government?

Christians have been given spiritual weapons to:

“… destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every proud obstacle to the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:3–6)

The apostle Paul, who wrote those words, prayed against deception. But he also opposed it with powerful Spirit-led arguments.

In our day, we should be exposing the deception embedded in the language of “left” and “right” – because it ensnares whole nations.

We should also “overcome evil with good” by advocating a more truthful political spectrum.

I suggest all dictators at one extreme, all anarchists at the other, and in the middle people who want freedom under law – which is the vast majority of people in Christian nations.

Our forebears understood that this kind of spiritual activism builds Christian nations.
