With more than 6,000 signatories across 60 nations, the Australian Creed for Sexual Integrity has rallied the global church to uphold God’s design for marriage, family and sexual morality.

The Australian Creed for Sexual Integrity has achieved significant global reach, with more than 6,000 Christians from 60 nations having signed the declaration affirming God’s design for sex, marriage, and family. As the creed approaches its one-year anniversary, its drafters are calling on believers worldwide to help expand its influence.

In a recent email to signatories, the creed’s drafting team wrote:

God is raising up many bold voices to declare His good design for sex, marriage and family. More than 6,000 people have now signed the creed from 60 nations. While 80% are Australians, every continent is represented.

The Australian Creed’s ‘Initial Signatories’ include 300 men and women representing 16 denominations. Many are clergy, leaders of non-profits, academics, educators, chaplains, and missionaries, demonstrating the breadth of Christian commitment to upholding biblical truth in the midst of secular pressures.

The Australian Creed in the Media

Media attention on the creed has been significant. The email highlighted praise from a range of outlets and commentators:

  • “[It] draws a line in the sand as to what Christians have always believed.” — Mark Powell, The Spectator Australia
  • “An unambiguous affirmation of centuries of Christian doctrine.” — Michael Cook, The Catholic Weekly
  • “Unapologetic in its promotion of biblical truth.” — Glenn Davies, AP
  • “A united statement of faith with bold intentions.” — Rod Lampard, Caldron Pool
  • “It is refreshing to see unity across the board on this important and fundamental issue.” — Kirralie Smith, Binary Australia
  • “In just over 200 words, it lays out the Bible’s clear teachings on sexuality in truth and grace.” — Nancy Campbell, Above Rubies

Other outlets covering the creed include Lutheran Mission Australia, Catholic News Agency, The Daily Declaration, The Living Church and Clear Truth Media. According to the email, the creed has also been featured on at least four podcasts, including Vision Christian Media, AP Profiles in Christian Living, John Paul II Renewal Center and The Becket Cook Show.

Becket Cook, a former gay man who turned to Christ, discussed the creed’s impact in a recent episode of his show. According to the email:

Becket Cook’s is especially notable. He walked away from a gay lifestyle after coming to faith in Christ. He is now a Christian commentator with 16 million views on his YouTube channel.

Spreading the Word About the Australian Creed

The Australian Creed affirms that “God created each person in His image as male or female,” emphasises marriage as a sacred union between a man and a woman, and calls Christians to practice sexual integrity according to the teachings of Scripture.

The drafters are actively encouraging believers to share the creed widely, hoping to grow the number of signatories from 6,000 to 10,000, then 100,000, and ultimately one million. Suggested actions include sharing media articles about the creed, encouraging church leaders to sign, or posting personal reflections on social media.

The drafters concluded:

Increasingly, Westerners are growing weary of secularism and the sexual revolution’s empty promises. More and more Christians are finding the boldness to speak truth in love. Let’s make the most of this cultural shift and rally thousands more to sign the Australian Creed.
