Bondi Royal Commission Needed to Probe Failure to Act on Muslim Leaders’ Terror Advocacy
Family First is pushing for a joint federal and NSW Royal Commission to expose how authorities overlooked Islamist hate preachers, failed to act on terror warnings, and allowed extremist groups to operate freely within Australia’s borders.
Family First has joined mounting calls for a Royal Commission into the Bondi massacre.
National Director Lyle Shelton said the failure of security agencies to act on two years of Islamic hate preachers inciting violence and advocating for terrorist organisations needs the scrutiny only a Royal Commission can bring.
“We need to know why it took three years for Sajid Akram to have his gun licence processed at a time when his son Naveed was on ASIO’s radar and attending the Al Madina Dawah Centre in Bankstown.
“We need to know why the terrorist organisations Hizb ut-Tahrir and the Muslim Brotherhood have been allowed to operate with impunity in Australia.
“What are they doing here and who are they influencing and why have authorities not acted?”
Joint Royal Commission Required
Mr Shelton said a joint federal and NSW Royal Commission was needed so it had powers across both jurisdictions.
“We need to get to the bottom of why no action was taken after one of the speakers at the “Glory to the Martyrs” rally in Paul Keating Park on October 7 this year, Auburn’s Ahl Al Bait Islamic Centre cleric Dr Ali Al Samail, called for Hamas and Hezbollah to be de-listed as terrorist organisations in Australia.
“A Royal Commission could compel the Muslim leaders calling for the mainstreaming of terrorist organisations to explain themselves and also the security agencies for not acting.
“Australians also need to know why it took a minor town planning infraction to close down Bankstown’s Al Madina Dawah Centre rather than a recommendation from ASIO. Something is clearly wrong,” Mr Shelton said.
Since the October 7 atrocities in Israel, Family First issued 27 public statements calling out Australian Muslim support for terror.
“If we can have a Royal Commission into Robodebt, we must have one into Australia’s worst Islamic terrorist attack,” Mr Shelton said.

Absolutely must agree
The Italian Constitution does not recognise Islam as a religion and is currently investigating across the whole country Fraud committed by NGOs sending money to Terrorist organisations including Hamas not supply food or medical aid ,but, to buy weapons. Meanwhile stupid Australia is under pressure from imams to de-list calling Hezbollah and Hamas as terrorist organisations so that more money can be sent from here Overseas to fill the gap for weapons caused by Italy, with the help of the Netherlands and Israel, cracking down on hard on the NGOs’ Fraud. Where exactly are the millions recently given by the Albanese govt. to the Moslem community to fight Islamophobia being spent , and on what ? This needs to be investigated thoroughly. Who is running Australia ? Is it the imams who are probably the “specialists ” who claim a Royal Commission into antisemitism and Bondi is unnecessary, would cost too much, take too long , etc ? Wish we had Giorgia Meloni running Australia.
Well said Lyle – couldn’t agree more.
There are many questions to be asked to reveal the motivations of our Prime Minister and the Muslim anti-Australian agendas.
Thank you, Lyle, for calling for a Royal Commission and for insisting it must be as soon as possible.
It is outrageous that for two years we have had pro-Palestinian rallies, marches and uprisings, in main capital cities as well as university encampments in Canberra, and several states, yet nothing has been done… The fact that Prime Minister Albanese’s office was surrounded for up to 9 months and unusable said volumes, and also Labour MP Josh Burns had his office invaded in Melbourne. The fact that the rally at Sydney Opera House after Oct 7 2023, took place with only one man, Rev Mark Leach, daring to stand and wave an Israeli flag said volumes.
There are other very strange events that have occurred that are not the norm in democratic Australia. We have had a radical cult (Hiz- but- Tahrir) visit each capital city in November to talk about radical Islam; they openly say they aim to recruit disengaged youth and Indigenous people. This cult is banned as a terrorist group across Asia, UK, Indonesia, Europe and even Iran- as it is seen to be an extremist group with terrorist aims (ie.to kill the Jews and set up a caliphate and intrroduce Sharia law) yet our Federal Govt has welcomed them and permission was given to hold 1- 2 day conferences in the capital cities of each state just over a month ago…Stranger still, has been a $27 million grant to the Imans association of Australia to help them secure their schools, mosques, prayer halls and buildings. ne wonders why this would occur when the mosques have been safe and no one has attacked these places. Yet the Jewish population have suffered fires in synagogues, arson attacks on their cars, an attack on a Jewish restaurant in Melbourne, the invasion by a Victorian MP wearing a Habib in a during a Jewish private gathering to mourn the loss of hundreds of lives during the Hamas attack on the kibbutz homes and festival…
Other strange incidents have occurred that not in line with democratic values. eg Minister of Immigration Tony Burke was asked if the Federal Govt gave passports to the ISIS brides. the reply was ‘no’. The next thing we learn is that the ISIS brides have come in on passports issued by our Fed Govt as only they can give that authority, but it was done in secret, and the ‘Save the children’ fund have been used as the scapegoat (yet they can’t issue passports to Australia.)
One last anomaly is that we have faced one of the greatest periods of Anti Semitism ever, since the Holocaust in Australia, which meant we needed to step up security and protection for them and also to increase Australian Federal security through ASIO and the ADF. Yet despite this urgent need over 8 of the senior ASIO staff were given redundancy packages in 2025 and laid off.
These are just a few of the very serious failures of the Federal Govt to curb the uprising of extremist radical Islam within our shores which led to a failure to protect the Jews from the time of the Hamas attack on Israel 2023 which in turn led to violence, hate speech and harassment against Jewish people in our nation. The only way to regain some accountability for these actions is to examine our laws and review what new laws need to be introduced. Then to examine our Federal govt responses and assess how appropriate these were. Only a Royal commission can involve subpoenas, locate evidence and call in witnesses – a Review (as suggested by Our Prime Minister) hasn’t that authority so would be inadequate and ineffective.
It thus remains essential to hold a Royal Commission to examine the needs we face as a nation and to publicly apologise to Jewish population within our shores who have suffered enormous grief and loss, harassment, trauma and trust in the Govt. They are owed our protection and also they are to be honoured for many came to live here as peace-makers who escaped the Holocaust and who wanted to contribute to our nation.
We need strong leadership not this mambie pambie current regime. Albanese resign you’re totally ineffectual,
