As 2025 draws to a close, read this short reflection on how the Lord used the Canberra Declaration. Thank you for your faithful prayers, support and partnership this year.

With 2025 almost behind us, we’d like to take this opportunity to reflect on the year that’s been and give glory to God for his continued faithfulness to us.

Each year, challenges to the Christian worldview keep increasing. We have seen some laws implemented, such as the ‘conversion practices‘ ban, which significantly hinder the ability of parents and churches to uphold God’s design for human sexuality and gender.

Yet, while living as a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ becomes more difficult, God remains faithful to his promise “to be with us always” (Matthew 28:20) and give us grace to meet these challenges (2 Corinthians 12:9).

For the past few years, there’s been steady growth (though sometimes small) to our Canberra Declaration signatories, Daily Declaration subscribers and social media followers.

Then, from January onwards, we began to grow significantly. Remarkably, in 2025:

• Daily Declaration subscribers have more than doubled.
• The Daily Declaration cracked one million views a year, and now sits at almost 1.5 million views.
• Thousands more people signed the Canberra Declaration.
• Our Facebook followers grew by several thousand, and our Facebook page activity increased dramatically as articles were shared and generated discussion.

While increased numbers are encouraging, our focus remains purely on the revitalisation of Australia through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This year’s top highlight was the Australian Evangelism Roundtable in Brisbane. Representatives from 80% of all church denominations attended and agreed to what is now called the Reaching Australia 2033 statement.

The statement is a clear call for the Australian Church to share the gospel with every Aussie by Pentecost 2033. As seen in the video below, the roundtable delegates were thrilled at what this unity in gospel mission means for our nation!

A Quick Recap of 2025

Looking back over 2025, we’re grateful for all the opportunities we’ve been given to serve the Australian Church. Here’s the short version):

• Promoted and organised the Sunrise Prayer Relay for New Year’s Day 2025.
• Promoted and supported 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting for Life from 19 January – 8 February 2025.
• Created and promoted the Christian Values Checklist for the 3 May 2025 Federal Election, which was accessed by tens of thousands of people.
• Prayed and fasted for 21 days for the Federal Election (13 April – 3 May).
• In a new initiative, joined with theAustralian Christian Lobby (ACL) to hold the largest national online prayer meeting for the federal election.
• Held our first-ever Christians in Politics Digital Summit to promote and support federal election forums. Many Christians significantly increased their involvement in the political process.
• Held the first National Day of Repentance on the lawns of Parliament House on 21 April.
• Promoted and supported Go Month: 31 days of prayer for sharing the gospel during May. Coming straight after the election prayer campaign, many shared about incredible answers to prayer and the enjoyment of God’s presence during our prayer meetings.
• Partnered with the amazing Taylor family as Felicity walked 2,500 kilometres through the heart of the nation — from Sturt Creek in the Kimberley to Yaraka in western Queensland. Hundreds of people joined in prayer walking their neighbourhood for several Saturday mornings.
• Promoted and supported 31 days of prayer and fasting for Church and the release of the gospel in October. We saw many amazing answers to prayer, including the release of the final version of the Reaching Australia 2033 statement. • Partnered with UK evangelist Michael Harvey on Wednesday nights during October as he taught and guided believers in a simple spiritual practice to share the gospel. For many, this was the highlight of their year as they God’s involvement in their lives and the lives of others in ways they never thought possible!

Gospel Unity and Partnership

With continued turmoil in our nation, our mission to revitalise Australia’s Judaeo-Christian values becomes ever more pressing and vital.

To achieve this, the Canberra Declaration’s commitment and involvement in nationwide gospel initiatives has significantly increased this year. If we could sum up 2025 in a few words, it would be ‘gospel unity and partnership’. By God’s grace, our gospel impact will grow exponentially in 2026.

Though the darkness is evident, so is the light. And the deeper the darkness, the brighter the light shines!

Together, we are making a significance difference, and we anticipate that impact will grow even stronger in 2026!
